Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, Best Wishes, Heartfelt Wishes, Seasonal - Fall

Beauty of the Earth in 5 Minutes or less

Happy Labor Day! I know you’ve heard me say that some cards I show you are “quick and easy” or “easier than you think”, but I think this one takes the cake for being quick and easy.  And there is really not “labor” involved in making this card,

Beauty of the Earth #1

I used the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.  It’s perfect for a fall card with all the earthy colors.

Beauty of the Earth DSP

The paper that I chose has a tree pattern on each side and what I would call blank space in the middle. I  cut the paper in half, then trimmed 1/2” off the bottom where all the foliage is and then cut 1/4” off the top (where it is more blank).

I then cut each strip into three 4” x 5 1/4” pieces, perfect for layering on a card base.  I cut the other half of the paper the same way so I ended up with 6 identical pieces.  This is the second card I made, same as the first except I used a different color twine.

Beauty of the Earth #1 & #2

Here they are side by side.  Which one do you like better?  My mother weighed in on this one and decided she liked the second card with the Cajun Craze twine better than the first one which is Crumb Cake from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack.

Beauty of the Earth #2

If you would like to make theses cards, these are the supplies that you will need.

  • Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set
  • Cajun Craze Cardstock  – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”: Score and fold at 5 1/2”
  • Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper – cut 4” x 5 1/4” and a strip 4” x 1/2”
  • Basic White Cardstock – Cut 4” x 5 1/4”
  • ink: Early Espresso
  • Essential Twine Pack  (Crumb Cake) and Come to Gather Ribbon Combo (Cajun Craze Twine)
  • Adhesive – Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Tools – Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips

Beauty of the Earth Inside @1

Remember the strip I cut off one side of the paper?   I cut it into 6 strips each 4″ long.  And put that strip inside my card.  I think these two card (Cards 1 & 2)  are beginner cards.  Jump Stamp, Ink and Paper (and a tiny bit of twine).  I have 4 more cards that I made with this paper coming up in future posts.  I made a little change for cards 3 and 4, and even more changes for cards 5 and 6.  So you can progress in your card making!

Happy Stamping!  Enjoy your Labor Day Holiday!
