It’s always fun to start off the week with a bright and cheery card. I think it helps to set the mood for the entire week. So let’s get the party started!
The stamp set I used is called Party Puffins and is one of the new stamp sets that is in the New 2021-2022 Catalog that will be released on May 4th. So you are getting another sneak peak. You can check out the other card I made with this stamp set HERE. It is really fun to play and stamp with this set. I know already that this one will be a keeper.
This is the stamp set I used called Party Puffins and also the Scalloped Contour Dies that I used to cut my Designer Series Paper. As you can see from the card, the dies are a nice big size. I used the largest one and it is about a 4″ x 5 1/4″ size making it the perfect size for an A2 card. The Mango Melody colored Designer Series Paper is part of the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper that is in the current catalog. Look at all those fun colors! They look so much brighter in person!
This particular set of papers will retire on May 3 but not to worry, here will be an entire set of new Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series paper in the new catalog, the same colors but with different designs.
And don’t think that a mat for a stamped piece always has to be cut from colored cardstock….it’s OK to die cut your Designer Series Paper too and use that for a mat.
I did add a little Bermuda Bay color to the background just to give the card a little more color. It’s easy to do, just gently rub a Blending Brush in a circular motion on an ink pad, rub a little off on a scrap piece of paper and then very lightly rub (again in a circular motion) on your piece of cardstock. If it’s too light, just ink up your Blending Blush and repeat until you get the color you want.
The puffins were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Make sure you ink up it up really well. I think my pad needed to be re inked as I had several spots that weren’t inked as dark as I wanted, so I grabbed my Basic Black Stampin” Blends marker and filled it in.
There are no matching die sets for the Party Puffin stamp set, so I got out my Paper Snips and just cut around the outside, leaving a little tiny bit of white around the edge. I popped them up with dimensionals.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- Party Puffins Stamp Set
- Scalloped Contour Dies
- Bermuda Bay Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″; Score and fold at 4 1/4″
- In Color 6″ x 6″ Brights Designer Series Paper – Cut 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (die cut)
- Basic White Cardstock
- Cut 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ (outside)
- Cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
- Cut 2″ x 3″ – Large Puffin, Cut 2 1/4″ x 2″ (2 small puffin), cut 1 1/2″ x2″ (cake)
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay
- Stampin’ Blends Markers: Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Magenta Madness
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
- Tools: Blending Brush, Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
And don’t forget to do a little stamping on the inside of your card too! I used the candle stamp in the set and just stamped a few up the side of my card and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends markers.
