Dutch Fold Slider Card

If you’ve been following me for a bit (or if you are new to reading my blog), you might not be surprised that I am sharing another Fun Fold Card.  I love to make cards that are a little different or have a different way of folding.  And well, if it has moving parts, that’s even better!  This is not my original design,  I saw it on a Facebook post on Back Porch Stampers.  So here it is:

The front square piece slides up and down.  When it is on the card, it holds the two front flaps together. And when it is off the card, you can open the two panels to see the inside of the card.

I used the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set and the matching Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper to make this card.  When I was getting ready to share this card, I realized that I haven’t shared any of my cards using these products….so be on the lookout for more to come soon!

The papers are just gorgeous!  I have a hydrangea bush in the front of my house and it’s just lovely when it’s blooming!  My blooms are like the lighter shade of Highland Heather that is in the paper. And if you are going to purchase the papers, you need the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set and matching Hydrangea Dies too! (Although I didn’t use the dies on this card!, but you’ll save 10% if you purchase them as a Bundle)

Here are two more slider cards using that same set of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Papers.

The square sliding part on the front of the card is the most important piece and yet is so simple to make!  It is made with four pieces of Basic White Cardstock that measure 3″ x 3″.

Two of the Basic White pieces are scored and folded at 1 1/2 (folded in half).  Adhesive is added to the outside of the folded pieces.  I used Tear & Tape as that is the least messy and you want something that will hold really well.  If you don’t use Tear & Tape, I would recommend Stampin’ Seal Plus.  The two folded pieces are placed on one of the flat pieces of 3″ x 3″ Basic White with the folded edges meeting in the middle, and the other flat piece is put on top, so the folded pieces are sandwiched in-between.

The Basic White piece is then adhered to the back of the 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock.  This piece will slide right onto the front panels of your card.   I pushed on the sides of the card to bow it out a bit to show you how it fits on.  You put it on at the top and then just slide it down.

Feeling like you need a little help getting your card together?  You can watch my Facebook Live Video on either Youtube; HERE or you can check out my Pat’s Card Corner Facebook page HERE. Look for the post dated April 27th.

I will warn you that is is a LIVE recording and I made a little boo-boo….I forgot to attach my ribbon,  It is supposed to be attached to the square piece of Designer Series Paper BEFORE you attach it to the square cardstock piece.  But I did show you how to fix it if you make the same mistake I did!  Just a little trick with the Take Your Pick Tool.
