So I found this really simple and easy fun fold card and I had so much fun making one, that I kept trying it with different stamp sets, and papers and Designer Series Paper….I had a hard time stopping myself from making more. I think it’s going to be my new quick and easy “go to” card design when I need a card in a hurry. This is the first card that I made:
This card is made with several items that will be retiring and are part of the “Last Chance” list – The Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper, the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set, Butterfly Duet Punch, 2″ Circle Punch, 2 1/4″ Circle Punch, Classic Label Punch and the 2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots. Seems like just about everything on the card doesn’t it?
There is just one extra score line on the card base and it makes all the difference! The cardstock is cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2 (like a standard A2 Tent card), but then you also score the card base at 6 3/4″. Fold and crease on the score lines and then on the inside of the card, place glue between the two score lines and close the card giving the left side a little rub to make sure it’s stuck together. And what you are left with opens like this:
To make the notches on the left end piece use the Classic Label Punch, inserting the end of the card into the punch centering it on the left flap to make the v-shaped notch. Only put the edge of the card in a tiny bit….because you want a tiny notch! (Or if you miss out on purchasing the punch, you can use a pair of Paper Snips and get a similar result.
The butterflies were punched using the Butterfly Duet Punch (it’s on sale for $7.20 – that’s 60% off the regular price of $18.00. I used both sizes of the butterflies in this card. I punch one small and one large butterfly out of Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight Cardstock and then layered them on top of each other. I added some Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Colored dots in the centers.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies that you will need:
- Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set
- Misty Moonlight Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4″ x 11″, Fold and score at 5 1/2″ and 6 3/4″, plus a scrap for a 2 1/4″ Circle
- Bumblebee Cardstock – Cut 4″ x 4″ and also cut 1″ x 4″
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut 4″ x 4″, plus a scrap for a 2″ circle
- Flowers for Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – Cut 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ (Pattern 1) and cut 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ (Pattern #2).
- Ink: Misty Moonlight
- Misty Moonlight/Silver Twine – from Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionasl
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips
You can also make this card with other Stampin’ Up! products for a completely different look…like this card:
This is the same design, but it uses a different set of papers. Real Red and Basic Black cardstock is combined with Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and uses the Playful Pets Basic Black & White Twine. And do you see the little dog bone hanging near the bow? That is from the Playful Pets Trinkets (silver dog bones and hearts). The dog is cut right from the Designer Series Paper, or you can stamp one of the dogs (or cats) from the stamp set Pampered Pets. This stamp set is not retiring, as it will be in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog but the bundle pricing of 10% off will be gone.

I combined Garden Green and Flirty Flamingo Cardstock with the Forever Fern Designer Series Paper (which is on the retiring list!) The stamp set I used is called Friendly Flamingo and along with the the coordinating Flamingo Dies. That long-legged bird was die cut from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock too….I mean…. what else would you cut it from?
