In Bloom

In Bloom Fun Fold

Last week I promised that I would show you more cards using the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper…..well, I don’t exactly have that today….but I am going to show you a card using the Pierced Blooms dies.  I you read my post last Friday, Paper Bloom – Stamps, Ink, Paper I gave you just a little sneak peak at those on the inside of my card.  Today they are front and center!

I just love the stitching on these flowers. By just using cardstock to die cut these flowers you can really see all the stitching on the petals and leaves….and it is so easy to do!  The Pierced Blooms Dies have 14 different flowers and flower parts, plus 9 leaf or stem dies and also a bow and a sentiment tag…(yes, I counted and you can see them below).  To save time (and of course to have plenty to choose from when making my card) I used one larger piece of cardstock and cut all the flower pieces at the same time….and all the leaves at the same time.

I did not really have a plan of which ones I was going to use, I just started putting them on and layering different ones until I got something I like.  There are so many combinations you could have all this same pieces and make a totally different card!  A quick tip….when adhereing the small flower pieces, like the flower centers or small flowers, use glue dots!  No mess, less stress!

I almost forgot to show you the inside.  This is a simple Fun Fold Card.  The cardbase is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and then score at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″.  The front flap folds back making a “z” type fold.

The 3″ x 4″ piece is attached to the front panel  – just put adhesive on the left side only!  You don’t want to glue your card shut!.  And as you can see I added another small flower to the inside.  With this view you can see I also added another pattern of the same Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  Those strips are just 2″ x 5 1/4″, so this is a good card to make if you want to used up some leftover scraps.

P.S.  In my last post I asked for comments on which cardstock base color they liked the most for two identical cards.  The winner by a 5-3 vote was Night of Navy.  Although I usually seem to choose darker colors, my favorite was the Seaside Spray.  You can see both cards here:Paper Bloom – Stamps, Ink, Paper  I did a video drawing on my Facebook page (Pat’s Card Corner for the winner  and it was Cruz Moreno!  She will receive a kit to make both of those cards!
