I spent almost all of yesterday working on a set of cards for my March Card Kit to Go that will feature the In Bloom Stamp set and Pierced Blooms Dies. I made a mess of my workspace (as always when I am crafting). And of course I always have scraps of paper leftover, plus I had die cut lots of flowers and leaves that were also strewn around on my desk.
As I was cleaning up, another card idea came to mind to use some of the scraps. I couldn’t decide which background cardstock I liked better….Night of Navy or Seaside Spray. Both are blue….my favorite color. So I just made two cards and thought I’d let the readers of my blog and Facebook page decide!
The paper is from the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. This is one of the FREE items that you can get with a $50.00 purchase during Sale-A-Bration (more details on that below!).
Such beautiful papers and makes me think of Spring, which is hopefully just around the corner. The Pierced Bloom Dies that I used to die cut the tiny flowers on the front and theses beauties on the inside of the card are from coordinate with this paper. Many of the dies cut the flowers directly from the paper!
Look at all those flowers and leaves you can die cut! And see all that beautiful pierced lines? I can’t wait to show you a few more cards next week and a sneak peak at my March Card Kit. Although I didn’t cut the flowers out of the Designer Series paper for this card, I did add a few cardstock die cut flowers on the inside of my cards.
Leave a comment below with your choice! I will draw a name from all the people who voted and they will receive a kit with all the cardstock and paper (plus envelopes) to make both of these cards! (As per Stampin’ Up’s policy, I cannot include stamped images, so you will need to supply your own sentiment using stamps you own!). I will be posting this on my facebook page too….so hop over to Pat’s Card Corner (look for the post dated February 19, 2021) and leave a comment there for an extra chance to win! Drawing will be held Sunday, February 21st!
If you would like to make this card….or even make two! These are the supplies you will need: And a little hint from me….when you are adhering the small flowers on the front of the card….or the flower centers to the flowers on the inside of the card, use the mini-glue dots. So much easier and less messy than trying to put a tiny bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back! Mini Glue dots will be your new best friend!

As much as I love night of navy, my vote is for seaside spray. Beautiful cards!
I think that is my favorite too….not sure why because I generally go with the darker.
I think the dark base, Night of Navy, give the card an extra pop. And for some reason, I am choosing darker cardstock for most of my cards lately. lol
I tend to choose darker “jewel tone” colors too over paler pastels….but for this card Seaside Spray was calling my name…..go figure!
While blue happens to be my very favorite color, I am partial to the Night of Navy one! That, against the white, looks so fresh and crisp!! 💙🤍
I do love Navy and white together…..
Since I need to choose one, the Seaside Spray would be my choice. What I noticed in looking at both of these beautiful cards is that the one using Seaside Spray card base brings out the center strip of DSP and the one using the Night of Navy card base brings out the two outer strips. I’m probably the last one to the party in recognizing this. Just thought I’d mention it. Enjoy your day, Patricia.
Good observation! You made me go back and look at my cards again! Although I’m still partial to the Seaside spray one myself too.
