This is probably the one of the easiest and fastest treat boxes that I have made. I should have timed myself. Maybe 10 minutes? I probably could have done it faster, but I did have to do a little coloring….and eat some candy corn in the process.

It just takes a few simple items and boom! You’re done! The tag and the image are both from the Have a Hoot Bundle. The Have a Hoot Stamp Set and Peek-a-Hoot Dies are sold as a bundle and by buying them together, you save 10%!

See the die with the three rectangles in the upper right corner? When you use that die, it cuts out 3 tags….gift tags really because the die also cuts a little hole for threading through a piece of ribbon. The tag I used on my gift box is the largest one of the three.

I stamped the image on a separate piece of Whisper White Cardstock, colored it and then used one of the dies from the Peek-a-Hoot Dies to cut it out and then I attached the owls with dimensionals to the front of my box. There’s not a lot of coloring on this…and using the Stampin’ Blends really makes it go quick! I used Pumpkin Pie, Smokey Slate and Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.
Want to know one of the best kept secrets of Stampin’ Up products?? Those Clear Tiny Treat Boxes! You get 16 in a package….for only $7.50!, that’s less than 50 cents a box! They come folded flat, but all you need to do is open them up and fold the flap in to make the box! You can be fancy and put some colored shredded paper in first, but don’t close the lid it until you put some treats in first!

I wrapped around three sides of the box with some Basic Black Cardstock, topped with Plaiding Tidings Designer Series Paper. You can make 3 boxes with one 6” x 6” square and there are lots of fall or Halloween plaids to choose from in this paper pack. And you are in luck! This paper pack is part of the October Paper Sale! There are 48 6” x 6” sheets in the pack, so imagine all the treat boxes you can make!

The paper is just 6” x 6”, so not quite long enough to to go around the 2” x 2” x 2” box, but wrapping three sides is enough when you have this Metallic Mesh Ribbon to tie around the outside. The ribbon is what is actually holding the treat box inside the paper. No need to untie the bow to get the candy….just slide the box out the side!

And if you are wondering where I got this fun idea….well go right to the August=December Mini Catalog and look on page 62. I CAS’d (Copy and Share) the general idea, but I switched up the paper and ribbon. If you are looking for inspiration on how to use your stamps, or papers, or looking for fun projects, they are right at your fingertips! Start browsing through your catalogs.
