Earlier this week, I shared a Halloween Card using the Flight of Fancy Stamp set. You can see that card here: Flight of Fancy for Halloween. Today I am going to share a Christmas card made with that same stamp set.
The Flight of Fancy Stamp Set has images for several holidays, so it’s a great set to have on hand.
Since this was a Christmas card and I envisioned this angel flying over a snow covered city, I choose the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper to use for the card front. I love snow..not that I get much where I live.
I love the pretty blues, greens and purples in this set of papers. If I can’t have snowflakes on the ground, I’ll take them on paper. I chose the colors from the paper to color my angel.
I always imagine angels with golden hair so I use Daffodil Delight for her hair and Balmy Blue for her dress. The houses are colored with Smokey Slate, Flirty Flamingo and and Mint Macaron. I also used another stamp set called For Unto Us that is chock full of Christmas sentiments.
I know I’ll be using this stamp set for many, many cards this year. And it has the perfect sentiment for my card. I debated how I was going to stamp the sentiment….on a circle? an oval? a square? or one of the many other die shapes I have? But I decided to be different and just did a little fussy cutting around the words instead.
To cut the Night of Navy cardstock mat, I first adhered the Whisper White Cardstock piece with the stamped and already cut words onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and then just fussy cut some more trying to keep the matting space equal all the way around.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 4 ¼” x 11”, Score and fold at 5 ½”
- Night of Navy Cardstock
- Cut 5” x 3 ¾”
- Cut 2” x 3 ¼”
- Scrap for Sentiment Mat about 2 ¼” x 2 ¼”
- Whisper White Cardstock
- Cut 1 ⅞” x 3 ⅛”
- Scrap for Sentiment – about 2 ¼” x 2 ¼”
- Cut 5 ¼” x 4”
- Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper – Cut 4 ⅞” x 3 ⅝”
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Night of Navy
- Stampin Blends: Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Smokey Slate, Pool Party, Petal Pink
