Welcome Easter with Quick & Easy Cards

Just popping in with some cute and super easy Easter cards that I made using the Welcome Easter stamp set.  This stamp set has three cute little animals…a bunny, a lamb and a baby chick.

I couldnt decide which of the three images I would use, so I chose them all and made three cards….all using the same technique of random stamping and with a simple sentiment “Have a wonderful Easter”.

This is the first card that I made using the little lamb stamp.  I just randomly stamped the images beginning with the one in the center and then stamping the others around it.  I colored the bow with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends marker.  so I chose the same color cardstock for the card base.  I adhered the lamb patterned paper directly to the card base and add a sentiment.

For the second card I chose the baby chick.  And I thought it would be fun to color each one a different color….we dye Easter eggs in pretty colors, so why not have pretty colored baby chicks too?

This time I added  another layer underneath and used dimensionals to pop up the piece with the stamped chicks.  I chose Stampin’ Blends Markers in pastel colors – Daffodil Delight, Purple Posy, Mint Macaron and Pumpkin Pie Light.  I slso chose to stamp the sentiment on a piece of cardstock to give it more a bold presence.  I notched the ends with a pair of Paper Snips and adhered it to the card from with dimensionals

The last card has the cutest little bunnies.

To make this card, I just randomly stamped the bunny image on the paper making sure to have some of the images go off the edge of the paper.  I love the little bunny ears popping up at the bottom of the card.  I then colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers and matted the piece.  Before I adhered it to the card base with dimensionals, I added a piece of ribbon and put the banner with the sentiment on so it would look like a tag tied on with the ribbon.  The Stampin’ Blends I used for this card are Crumbcake and Flirty Flamingo Light.

On the inside of each card, I stamped an image in the corner so when the card was opened it would look like the bunny, lamb and duck were peaking in to say hello!

If you would like to make these cards, this is what you will need:

  • Welcome Easter Stamp Set
  • Card Base: Cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2” ; Score and fold at 4 1/4” (for a traditional opening card or Cut 4 1/4 x 11; Score and fold at 5 1/2” (for a card that Flips up to open)
  • Whisper White Cardstock – cut one piece 5 1/8” x 3 7/8” (one for stamping) and cut one piece 5 1/4” x 4” for the card inside.
  • Optional Cardstock Mat (cut 5 1/4” x 4” (I used Crumbcake for the bunny card and Whisper White for the Baby Duck card.
  • Sentiment Piece: Whisper White or coordinating color Cardstock – Cut 1/2” x 3”
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (images and sentiments on two cards), Flirty Flamingo for sentiment on bunny card
  • Stampin’ Blends Markers:
    • Bunnies: Crumb Cake and Flirty Flamingo
    • Lamb – Gray Granite Light and Flirty Flamingo
    • Chicks: Purple Posy, Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie Light
  • Adhesive: Snail or Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Dimensionals, Plus Tear & tape and glue dots for the ribbon & bow

These would make great cards to make with children, or older adults.  Instead of using Stampin’ Blends Markers use colored pencils, markers or even crayons!  Stamp on watercolor paper and let them have a go at doing a little watercoloring!  Just have fun!

Happy Stamping!
Patricia
