My version of an adventure these days is traveling from one room to another in my home. Each trip to the grocery store is becoming like a treasure hunt. I might go on a safari this week as the weeds in my flower beds are getting close to jungle proportions. With June hopefully fast approaching and the appearance of the new Annual catalog, I thought it would be good to check on two of the stamp sets that haven’t gotten much attention these days….One to Adventure and Beautiful You.
I used the dancing image from On to Adventure and the sentiment from Beautiful You. It seemed fitting for our current situation – “Life may not be the party we had hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance”.
One of my friends works for the hospital system in my area and is collecting “Thank you” and “Encouragement” cards to be distributed to the healthcare workers. A perfect idea of “dancing”.
But on closer examination and while I was coloring her tiny little hands with my Stampin’ Blends PetalPink Markers….I realized that she might not be dancing….but in a yoga like pose. What do you think?
If you would like to try and make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- On To Adventure Stamp Set
- Beautiful You Stamp Set
- Subtle Embossing Folder
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
- Rococo Rose Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4” x 4”
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Rococo Rose
- Stampin’ Blends Markers: Rococo Rose, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink
- 1/2” Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon, (two pieces, one 5 3/4”, one 4”
Did you notice that the Rococo Rose cardstock has a “subtle” texture….you have to look close. That piece was embossed using the Subtle 3D Embossing folder. For attaching the ribbon, using the shorter length of ribbon and tie it in a single not around the longer piece.
Add Tear & Tape to the backside of the longer piece of ribbon on either side of the knot, remove the backing and adhere to the Rococo Rose piece wrapping the ends around the back. This ribbon is a little bulkier that some of the others, by tying a knot you get the illusion of a bow, but it lays flatter on the card making it easier to mail.
And the inside of your card is just as important as the outside. It’s nice to have a pretty place to leave a handwritten message, even if it’s a simple strip of paper.
