Sometimes it can be hard to make cards for men as it seems like there aren’t enough stamp sets that have things that interest men like cars or fishing. Sometimes you have to think outside the box to find your Inspiration. I found mine by using the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set to make this card:
This is a SIP card….all you need to make this card is Stamps, Ink and Paper. Although as you can see if you look closely, I did die cut the stamped piece, but that is purely optional, you can just cut your piece of Basic White Cardstock and then simply stamp the image.
I used this stamp set – Waves of Inspiration
The wave stamp is fairly large, so you will need the largest block (Clear Block F) or a Stamperatus for this stamp. When I stamped my wave I used a piece of Basic White Cardstock that was 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” and then cut it down to the size I wanted for my card. I used Pacific Point ink to stamp the wave and then used a sponge dauber to fill it it with Coastal Cabana ink. You just need a little bit of ink on your dauber and go lightly as you can add more ink as needed.
I then used the same Pacific Point ink to stamp the sentiment and the seagulls. You could use this card for several occasions – birthday, anniversary or as in this case Father’s Day. I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card, but I used the He’s The Man stamp set to add the Happy Father’s Day greeting on the inside.
If you would like to make this card, you will need the following:
- Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set
- He’s the Man Stamp Set (inside sentiment)
- Coastal Cabana Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
- Pacific Point Cardstock – Cut 4 3/4” x 3 1/2”
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2 x 4 1/4” (after stamping the wave, cut the piece down to 4 1/2” x 3 1/4”, also cut 5 1/4” x 4”
- Ink – Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana
- Sponge Dauber
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Clear Block F or Stamperatus
This is a quick and easy card that you can make in about 10 minutes! Hope you’ll give it a try!
P.S. Do you ever describe objects or things using Stampin’ Up Color names? Yesterday was our last day in Belize, so we took an air tour of The Great Blue Hole (a marine sinkhole that is 1047 feet wide and 470 feet deep) that is part of the The Belize Barrier Reef Reserve Project, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In my head I was describing the colors of the water to myself….”Oh the water is Coastal Cabana, no….wait now it’s Pacific Point, but it’s getting darker like Night of Navy. Oh look I see Bermuda Bay!”. What colors do you see?
