My Mom came for an extended visit in May and after two weeks with us, she decided that she was ready to make the move from Arizona to Virginia and live with my husband and me. I think it was the homecooked food that persuaded her! She is always asking either “What’s for dinner? or ”What’s Cookin’?….mainly because I cook using my crock pot quite a bit. Truth is, I do not like to cook, but I LOVE to bake….cookies, brownies, cupcakes….and lots of made from scratch blueberry muffins. I haven’t tried anything with peaches yet….but I think I will need to after making this card:
It might not look like it, but this is a Dutch Door Fun Fold Card…..I CAS’d this card (Copy & Share) from Terri Gaines. You can see that card here. I used different paper and I changed up a few measurements slightly, but I loved the way she made the card look like a table with all the cooking essentials sitting on top.
The stamp set that I used is called “What’s Cookin’” and it has a fun set of Cookin’ Dies that coordinates with the stamp set. The Cookin’ Dies have a few extra dies as well (no coordinating stamps)….a cutting board, a whisk and a spatula, which is a nice added bonus.
I thought it would be fun to combine this card with a little bit of the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set, so I stamped a few peaches and tucked them into the bowl….perhaps getting ready to make a peach pie? I think I maybe should have added a few little leaves too….what do you think? If you are wondering how I got the peaches into the bowl, I used my Paper Snips!. I made sure I had a mat underneath and just used one side of the scissors to cut a slit.
The stamps are DistINKtive stamps…meaning when you stamp with them, you get the shadows and texture that make the dark and light portions. You can especially see this on the bowl as there is a darker “stripe” around the bowl, plus shadows on the bowl itself.
The tablecloth is made by cutting a rectangle from a piece of Designer Series Paper – I used the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper and then cut on the diagonal to make two triangles. Such a great idea. When I was making this card, I thought about using the blue striped paper in this set of papers, but I changed my mind…..and switched up the entire color scheme from blues to peach and brown (or in Stampin’ Up! colors – Calypso Coral and Soft Suede)

If you are thinking that there is not much room to write a message on the inside of the card. You can add an optional piece of 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Basic White Cardstock to the back of the base card like this:
This card would be oh so cute used with other stamp sets too….like maybe the Plentiful Plants Stamp Set – it could look like a garden potting table. Hmmm might have to try that myself!

COMING SOON! – JULY-DEC MINI CATALOG
Are you wondering why the new July-December Mini Catalog isn’t out yet?…..after all it is already July. The answer is that due to shipping, some of the products in the new Mini catalog were not going to be available by the time the catalog was due to launch in July. In an effort to not disappoint customers, Stampin’ Up! changed the launch date to August 3rd. The catalogs had already been printed, hence the name on the cover. Catalogs have been shipped to my house and I’m trying to figure out a way to get them out to my customers as the catalogs are in Virginia and I am currently in Arizona. I might have to enlist the help of my husband….hmmmm we will see how that goes! If you are interested in receiving the new Mini Catalog and do not already receive one from another demonstrator, please go to my catalog tab (at the top of my blog) to request your copy.
