I keep putting my Party Puffins Stamp Set away to make other cards….but I think it actually calls me from the shelf because the Puffins want to come out and play some more. I love this stamp set. The puffins are so cute, they just make me happy when I stamp and color them. The card I’m sharing today is perfect for a fun birthday card.
This looks like an ordinary card until you open it up! And then surprise! Those puffins are having a party! And why not?
The stamp set I used is called Party Puffins. I just love them. There are 3 different puffins to stamp in the set and lots of great birthday sentiments. The Puffins are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I used Stampin’ Blends Markers to color in the feet, beak and party hat. I also used the blends to color in the cake and candles. These are quick and easy to stamp and color. This stamp set does not have coordinating dies, so you’ll need Paper Snips to fussy cut out those little puffins.
ThisFun Fold Card is called an M” Fold card. When you stand up the card and look down, you’ll see that it forms the letter “M”.
This card is a little unusual as it uses a piece of 12” x 12” cardstock – cut to 5 1/4” x 12” to make the card. Stampin’ Up does sell 12” x 12” cardstock. Each package is a collection of a group of colors – Neutral, Subtle, Brights and Regals. There are 2 pieces of each color in that group, a total of 20 sheets. . It’s nice to have on hand for cards like this that need a little extra length as well for doing 3D projects or Home Decor projects like Samplers. Although I think most people buy the more standard 8 1/2” x 11” cardstock, this can be handy to have on hand.
This card very simple to make. It does take a bit more Designer Series Paper than a traditional fold card, but so worth it if you want just a little different fold. These two views show the inside from two different angles so you can see all the little puffins.
