A few weeks ago, I shared a card made with the All Squared Away Stamp Set. As I was writing that blog post, I thought of a great way to use that stamp set….and I’m finally getting around to sharing my idea with you!
Mini cards! The square design just seemed destined to go on a square card and 3” x 3” cards just seemed like the perfect fit. I played around with the idea of making white cards – just layering the die cut squares right on to cards made with Basic White Cardstock. But that seemed just a little too plain. Then I debated about placing the the extra flower pieces on cards with a different color stamped background, but you can see I didn’t do that either. Finally I decided to add a piece of colored cardstock to match the stamped design behind the squares…and voila! Just seemed right to me.
As you can see from the All Squared Up Stamp Set, there are four different patterned background square designs to choose from. I decided to use each one with a different colored ink – Magenta Madness, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather and Melon Mambo.
I didn’t use any of the sentiments from the stamp set, I just left the card fronts just the way they were….no sentiments.
Due to the small size, they really don’t need a sentiment on the outside. But any one of the sentiments from the stamp set would be nice stamped on the inside of the card when you are ready to use them. These 3” x 3” cards make great enclosure cards….for small gift bags and presents, tucked into a box of candy or homemade cookies They are also great for any occasion….birthday, thank you, just a note etc.
I just picked a variety of bright and cheery ink and cardstock colors to make my assortment – Magenta Madness, Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana and Mango Melody.
If you would like to make these cards, you will need these supplies:
- All Squared Away Bundle (All Squared Away Stamp Set and Floral Squares Dies)
- Basic White Thick Cardstock – Cut 4 pieces 6″ x 3″; Score and fold at 3″
- Basic White Cardstock –
- Cut 4 pieces 2″ x 2″ (stamp background) – then trim to 1 7/8″ x 1 78″
- Cut 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ (Die cut 4 floral squares)
- Cut 4 pieces 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4 (inside of cards) – optional
- Cardstock – Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather
- One of each color – Cut 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2 (mats)
- scraps of each color – flowers
- Ink: Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather
- Basic White 3″ x 3″ Envelopes (4) – 1 for each card
- 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ Acetate Card Boxes (4)
- Ribbon
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
When you are done with your cards, package them (with envelopes!) in a clear acetate box and tie a bow around the box. These sets of cards make great gifts!
These are so simple and quick to make! They make great items for craft shows too!
