Sometimes I feel like my head is spinning because I have so many things going on at once. So this Pinwheel Card is the perfect card to share today. It’s a fun fold card with four different sides. And if you look down from the top, it looks a bit like a pinwheel.
But if you look at it folded it looks more like a regular card.
But if you turn the “pages”, the card will reveal the other three sides of the pinwheel.
If you noticed from the second picture in this post, you can see a small strip of Designer Series Paper when the card is folded flat and laying down, but you do NOT see it when the card is standing up!
Notice that the little bit of the You’re a Peach Designer series paper that you see on the right side in the first picture is the main paper that you see when you flip the card to the next section.
So when you are choosing what papers you want where, you’ll want to check to make sure that those papers also match. In the middle picture the stripes on the right side is the same small strip of Designer Series Paper that you see on the right when the card is flipped to the next section.
and the final side is where you have a chance to write your own greeting.
By using papers that are all from the same set of Designer Series Paper like the You’re a Peach set, it makes it easy to mix and match.
If you were making this card….which papers would you choose? If you’d like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- Sweet as a Peach Bundle (Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set and Peach Dies)
- Basic White Cardstock
- Cut 5 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ – Score on the LONG side at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/4″ and 3″
- Cut three pieces 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
- You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper
- Three pieces – one of each pattern- Cut 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
- Four pieces – Cut three pieces – one of each pattern. Each of these coordinates with a pattern above, then cut one more coordinating piece.
- Cut one piece 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ (This piece should coordinate with the extra piece above
- Ink: Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz
- 3/8″ Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon – about 12″
- Artistic Blooms sequins (optional)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine or Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Check out my YouTube video Sweet as a Peach Pinwheel Card to see how to assemble all the pieces! And just a little warning….I had my base piece backwards when I first started to put the card together, so watch for a minute or two as you’ll see me take it apart and fix it! I want your card to be successful on the first try, not the second! Thanks to Brenda Quintana for inspiring this card. I changed a few things in the assembly and design to make it simpler (at least for me)
And her’s proof that this card will fold flat and fit into an envelope!
Happy Stamping!
Patricia
