Hand-Penned Petals, Seasonal - Spring, Seasonal - Summer

Hand Penned Angle Front Z Fold

Just to let you know right off the bat that I made up the name of the type of card I am sharing today – Hand Penned Angle Front Z Fold.  I’m sure there is a better name, but that’s just the best way to describe the card….it describes everything the card is.  So here it is:

The Hand Penned is for the paper that I used – Hand Penned Designer Series Paper.  This paper is absolutely gorgeous!  I love the soft muted colors, the different flower designs on one side of the paper with stripes, dots, small flowers and leaf designs on the reverse side, so it makes card making so easy!  And the colors!…..did I mention the colors?  So soft and feminine!

The “Angle Front” part of the description is just that, you can see the angles in the folds on each side that mirror each other.

The “Z” fold is because the folded sides look like the letter “Z”.  And the “fun fold” is because it’s folded so obviously it’s fun to fold.  This is what the card looks like when it’s open.

And finally it is a Fun Fold, because it’s fun to make!  If you would like to make this card yourself, these are the supplies that you will need:

  • Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set
  • Mint Macaron Cardstock
    • Cut TWO pieces 5 1/2″ x 8″:, Score each piece at 2″ x 4″  (alternative, you can use a piece 5 1/2″ x 12″ – Score at 2″ , 4″, 8″ and 12″)

But the EASIEST way to figure out the cutting is to WATCH THE YOUTUBE VIDEO to see exactly how it is done:  Angle Front Z Fold Card

You can also watch the video on my Facebook Page here: Pat’s Card Corner

And here is a little hint:  When you have a stamped outline image of flowers like on the square piece of this card:

You don’t always have to stamp in black and then color.  Sometimes just a light stamped image (ink the stamp and then stamp off (on a scrap of paper) and then stamp the image in the same color ink as your cardstock base and then let it be….resist the urge to color!  See how gorgeous that looks all by itself?

I hope you’ll give this card a try….it’s easier than you might think.

Happy Stamping!
