I love pansies….the vibrant colors, soft petals…they are beautiful to use in landscaping….unless you have rogue bunnies in your yard! A few years ago I bought about 80 pansy plants at a local high school fundraiser to fill a rather large flower bed in front of my house. I planted them one afternoon. They looked beautiful and I was proud of my hard labor. The next morning every single one was just a nub….all the flowers had been chewed off…..I think by the bunnies that live somewhere nearby. So I gave up on planting more. However the new Pansy Suite of products now gives me a change to enjoy some of the beautiful flowers.
This is one of the cards that I designed for a recent In-Color Online Bingo Event. The paper I used, Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper just so happens to have all five of the new 2021-2023 In-Colors so it was the perfect choice for my event and for making this card. Here are the new colors: Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen.
The Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper is a beautiful set of papers filled with all sizes of pansies on one side and on the reverse side a mixture of gingham checks, stripes and some fun patterns. All perfectly coordinating so it’s easy to mix and match however you’d like.
Another benefit of this beautiful paper is that not only does is coordinate with the new In-Colors, it of course coordinates with the Pansy Patch Stamp Set and Pansy Dies. There is a great selection of sentiments, and the dies not only cut out your stamped images, but they also cut out images directly from the paper!
The Pansy and the leaves on my card were cut directly from the Pansy Petals paper. I used dimensionals to adhere them to the front of my card. Of course if you don’t have these dies, you can also use your Paper Snips and do a little fussy cutting.
I also used another one of the new products in the catalog to die cut my Pansy Petal paper and that is the Scalloped Contour Dies. The largest die in that set has an open Scalloped edge. I used the “holes” to thread my ribbon through instead of just wrapping it around. You can see it in the picture above on the left if you look closely.
If you’d like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
