It’s easy to overlook stamp sets in the Annual Catalog….especially when a smaller Mini Catalog come out a month of two after the Annual Catalog launch with even more fun stamp sets to play with and if it’s a set that carried over from a previous year, sometimes they don’t get a second look. Today is the last day that you can order items from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog in the Last Chance Products Sale. And the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set I used to make today’s card is on that list. So I’m using it one last time (that I”m going to share) as this is a stamp set I plan to keep.
I also used a few other items on the Retiring LIst too….Can you guess what they are? – Purple Posy Cardstock, Purple Posy Ink, Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper and Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack. So many fun things that we have to say goodbye to.
This is one stamp set that you don’t need to do any coloring as the stamp in the set uses “two Step Stamping” One stamp stamps the outline and the other stamps stamp either the flowers or the stem and leaves. And because the have a bit of an “artistic” look, it’s perfectly fine for the ink to be “outside the lines”.
This is the stamp set that I used. There are several other flower images in the set and each one has a corresponding stamp to “color” the flowers.
Did you know that you can emboss Designer Series Paper? Most people only emboss cardstock, but embossing Designer Series Paper can add a little interest to your card too. For this card I embossed the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper that is in the background with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.
This paper set is also retiring, so if you love stripes, dots and other fun patterns, then make sure you place your order today so you don’t miss out.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- Inspiring Iris Stamp Set
- Painted Texture Embossing Folder (optional)
- Stitched So Sweetly Dies (optional)
- Purple Posy Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4″ x 11″, Score and fold at 5 1/2″, plus a piece cut 3″ x 4 1/4″ (die cut)
- Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper – Cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ (Emboss)
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut 2 1/2″ x 3 5/8″ (front), plus a piece cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside)
- Ink: Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam and Memento Tuxedo Black
- Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal, Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Snips
I also did a little stamping on the inside of the card. Alot of times I don’t add a sentiment inside until I am ready to send the card, but this time I did! I couldn’t resist the sentiment. And of course I had to add another iris to the inside too.
And let’s do something a little different…stamp on the outside of the envelope! If you are going to send Happy Mail….let the recipient start feeling happy when they see the envelope….and then be happier when they see the card inside!
Happy Stamping! And have a great week!
