Fun with the Postage Stamp Punch

Cutting Paper not your thing?  I have an almost perfect solution…use a Punch!  Specifically the Rectangular Paper Punch!  And these cards go together so fast, that I have more than one to share with you.  The first one I made I used the Flower and Field Designer Series Papers that is one of the FREE products you can earn with a $50 purchase.

This set of papers is so colorful that you don’t really need anything else on your card.  And these pieces are the front and back of one of the sheets in this paper pack.

And the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch makes it super simple to cut the four pieces.  I love the detail on the edges….just like you see on a real postage stamp.I did add a few small flowers that I die cut from the Pierced Blooms dies….I love those so much it’s hard to keep them off my cards!

Are you ready to make this card?  These are the supplies you will need.

  • A Touch of Ink Stamp Set (sentiment)
  • Pierced Blooms Dies
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • Cut 4 ¼” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 ½”
    • Scrap for 1 set of leaves
  • Just Jade Cardstock –
    • Cut 3 ⅝” x 4 ⅞”
    • Scrap for 1 ½” Circle
  • Bumblebee Cardstock – Cut 3 ⅜” x 4 ⅝”
  • Basic White Cardstock
    • Cut 3 ⅛” x 4 ⅜”
    • Scraps for 1 ⅜” Scalloped Circle and small flower
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock – Scrap for small flower
  • Rococo Rose Cardstock – Scrap for small flower
  • Flower & Field Designer Series Paper – Punch 4 pieces (2 of each design) using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Basic Black Stamp & Write Marker (flower centers)
  • Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal, Mini DImensionals, Dimensionals
  • Tools: Paper Trimmer
  • Punches: Rectangle Postage Stamp, 1 ½” Circle and 1 ⅜” Scalloped Circle

If you don’t have the Rectangular Postage Stamp, you can still make this card.  Each punched stamp piece is 1 3/8” x 2”.  So get out your Paper Trimmer and cut the pieces instead!

Here are two more cards using the same design that you might like to try, both using the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper.  The first one uses Coastal Cabana Cardstock as the Cardbase, layered with Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

And this card is made with Real Red Cardstock with layers of Real Red and Blushing Bride Cardstock.  The little snail on both of these cards is stamped with the stamp set that was included in the January 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Sending Hearts.  I turned the card below the other direction…the card base is cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 1/4”.  This is actually a scrap card base I found in my stash.  I have no idea why I cut part of it off….but most likely I meant to score it for a Fun Fold Card and accidentally cut it off instead.  Who else has done that? (Me! Many times!)  So I turned it into a “happy accident” card instead.

Hope you’ll give at least one of these a try!  Grab your favorite paper and give it a go!

Happy Stamping!

Patricia

  1. Just made your card. The cutting dimensions are so perfect for the postage stamp punch. Such a quick and super cute layout that I will use a lot. I absolutely Love your “mistake” card!
As others have stated I think it’s my favorite too!!

    1. Thanks Terry! It’s quickly become my “go to’ card when I need a quick and easy card. Punches are great for that! I’m kind of liking that mistake card myself.

  2. I just had to case your card when I found it on Pinterest. What a great design! Looking forward to making more of these. Thanks for sharing.

    1. You’re welcome! Glad you like the card. I think I need to go back and make some more of these myself…it’s been awhile! Maybe with some Christmas papers.
