It’s October! A new month that brings visions of of colorful leaves, pumpkins, as well as all things Halloween….spooky witches and black cards….and let’s not forget the candy because as one of my friend’s said….Who doesn’t like candy?
If you had purchased September’s Paper Pumpkin kit called Hello Pumpkin, you could have had all those things delivered right to your door….ahead then you would have had hours of fun creating the projects inside! A Stamp Set, Inkspot, Dimensionals, glue dots, 20 crackers/poppers, plus all the embellishments – leaves, sentiments tags, black cats, witch’s hats, pumpkins, flowers, twine and more!
September’s kit usually has a Halloween theme with lots of fun treat holders…you know to put all kinds of candy treats for the neighborhood Trick-or-Treaters. This year September’s kit did not disappoint….and Stampin’ Up! even went one better! The kit contains enough supplies to make 20 “crackers”…..small boxes that you fill with candy, and then the person who receives one just has to pull the ends to let all the goodies out.
What is fun about these crackers is that the cardstock for the crackers is reversible, so you have your choice of making Halloween themed crackers or making them look more “falling”, making them perfect for placing on a Thanksgiving table. So it’s like getting two kits in one!
But wait! What if you didn’t need 20 crackers/poppers? Well…it’s super easy to turn those supplies into cards or smaller treat holders. If you are looking for a great treat holder to put things like lipstick or lip balm, then you might want to make these:
I CAS’d (Copy & Share) the idea for these from another demonstrator. These were made by cutting up one of the popper pieces. By cutting one of the pieces, you can make one of these smaller poppers above…..plus 4 mini cards (3” x 3”)
And…..an A2 size card! (5 1/2” x 4 1/4”)
The extra supplies that you will need to make the smaller size cards are:
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 4 pieces 6” x 3” – Score and fold at 3”
- Pumpkin Pie Cardstock – Cut 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”
- Cajun Craze Cardstock – Cut 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”
The extra supplies that you will need to make the larger A2 size card are:
- Cajun Craze Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
- Crumb Cake Cardstock – Cut 5” x 3 3/4”: Emboss with Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 4” x 3 3/4” Or cut with Largest Scalloped Rectangle is the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (Embossing Optional – Coastal Weave (retired))
This kit is so versatile and there are so many extra pieces that you can make lots, and lots of cards!
