DinoRoar – Just Paper

A new catalog is coming soon!  The 2020-2021 Annual Catalog will be out on June 3rd.  And with Stampin’ Up announcing the list of items that will be retiring from the current 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, I thought I’d better get going and used some of the items I have that I have never used before they retire!  One of those is the DinoRoar Designer Series Paper.  which was left over from a Paper Share last year.

Because I didn’t purchase either the stamp set or the matching dies, I did the next best thing and just fussy cut the dinosaurs from the Designer Series Paper…you can see there is an entire sheet of large dinosaurs.  So I grabbed my Paper Snips and started cutting.

And look what hatched!

Initially I didn’t use this paper as it seemed more “child-like” and as my own children are grown and I don’t have grandchildren, I never pulled the paper out to use it.  But with the sentiment “you rock” from the Music From My Heart Stamp Set (also retiring) it seemed like a great card to make as a “thank you” for one of the many people who are “essential” and working in our community.

If you have some of this paper stashed away like I did, now is the time to get it out and use it!  This is what you will need to make this card.

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 5 ½” x 8 ½”; Score and fold at 4 ¼”
  • DinoRoar Designer Series Paper – Cut 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 3 ¼” x 4 ½”, plus a scrap for oval – Oval is cut with Paper Snips to look like a cracked egg.  Plus cut a piece 5 ¼” x 4” (inside)
  • DinoRoar Designer Series Paper – Cut 3” x 4 ¼”, plus two strips cut 1/4” x 5 1/4” (inside)
  • Real Red Cardstock – Scrap for Oval
  • Ink: Real Red (Started at the bottom and stamped up three times without re-inking)
  • Layering Ovals Dies
  • Snail or Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Paper Trimmer and Paper Snips

And because I was trying to use up this paper, I also used a piece of the Designer Series Paper cut 2 1/2” x 6” to decorate the flap of my envelope.

I was actually having so much fun that I made 8 cards!  I’ll be sharing one or two more of those, but here is a sneak peak at all of them.

Stampin’ Up! has revealed the list of products that will be retiring from the 2020 Mini Catalog on May 31st and from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog on June 2nd.  Although the official date for the annual catalog is June 2nd….witth the exception of Stamp sets that are guaranteed to be available only until May 15th, everything else on the retirement list is available only while supplies last!  Many items, especially the 2018-2020 In-Colors will go quickly.  That includes papers, cardstock, ink, re-inkers, markers, Stampin’ Blends, ribbon and embellishments.  So do not delay if those items are on your list.  There are also quite a few items that are discounted…like the DinoRoar Designer Series Paper so you can save anywhere from 10% to 60% on select items.  You can see both lists by following the links below:
