As promised I am back to show you a few alternative cards I made using the April Paper Pumpkin Kit – My Wonderful Family. Once you are done making the cards in the kit, there are alway leftover pieces – extra tags, embellishments, glue dots….but more importantly is that each Paper Pumpkin kit comes with a stamp set! And ink! You can see everything that came in the kit as well as the cards the kits makes HERE.
This is the stamp set that came with the Paper Pumpkin Kit. There are lots of family sentiments as well as a tree trunk, and foliage for the tree top.
Each Stamp set is different, so buying Paper Pumpkin kits is a great way to collect a variety of stamps without spending extra money. And you don’t have to use the stamps as intended…just use your imagination. See that big tree top? Just do a little stamp magic with a Gorgeous Grape ink pad and…..voila!
I stamped two tree tops side by side on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock….and it magically looks like a purple hydrangea! I used one of the leftover leaves from the kit and tucked it under the flower to look like a stem. I then fussy cut the flower with my Paper Snips and attached it to the card front with dimensionals. All that was left was to add the sentiment and a bow using the Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon and the card was done and attach it to a Highland Heather Cardstock base.
But I wasn’t done yet….I had to do a little bit of stamping on the inside too. There is a tiny stamp with three butterflies and dots. I stamped that multiple times up the side of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that I attached to the inside and added a sentiment from the stamp set.
My sister loves the color purple, so that card is for her. Of course you can use the stamp as it was intended too, like in did in the card below.
This card is also super simple to make. Because this card is for my brother (might be obvious by the stamp) I made it a little more masculine looking and used Soft Suede Cardstock for the base. I also used Very Vanilla Cardstock for the matting and stamped piece, but gave it a Real Red Cardstock Base to bring out the color of the tree.
Just a simple stamp no the inside and this card is done and ready for the mail.

The fun thing about Paper Pumpkin is that each month is a surprise. Stampin’ Up gives a few general hints and a name, but you never know what is inside the box until it arrives in the mail. Paper Pumpkin kits are an inexpensive way to try stamping. Each month you get a new stamp set and an ink spot, so you can create to your hearts content until the next kit arrives. And during a 12 month cycle, the ink spots are a different color each month!…so not only can you collect stamps, but ink too!
Happy Stamping!
Patricia
