Let the Paper Do the Work

It’s Monday.  My brain is fried from thinking too much over the week-end.  I wasn’t really  “crafty” all last week and it shows.  I feel stressed.  I need something easy to just slide gently into Monday and get my bearings for the week.  How about you?  Ready for something simple?  Here it is:

I can spend all kinds of time making fancy cards….but sometimes simple is best, especially when your paper does all the work to make your card gorgeous with a capital “G”!  The paper I used is called Magnolia Lane and it features those beautiful flowers in several patterns.  The one I chose for my card is just to the right of the middle.

When you have gorgeous paper like this, you just need to cut a piece, adhere it to a card base, add a little sentiment (and maybe a bow….I do love ribbon on a card!) and you’re done.  What could be more easy!

Unless you are “bow challenged” like several of my friends.  With beautiful ribbon like this, you could just tie a small knot in your ribbon and call it a day.

If you’d like to make this card, here are the supplies you’ll need:

  • Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set (sentiment)
  • Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper – Cut 5” x 3 3/4”
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4 X 4” (cut 2 – 1 for inside, 1 for outside), plus a scrap for a 2” circle
  • Petal Pink Cardstock – Scrap for scalloped Circle
  • Mossy Meadow Ink
  • Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon – 2 pieces (5” to wrap around, 10” to make a bow)
  • SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (circle)

And I made this card super easy….because I didn’t even put anything more on the inside except my little sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  Someone asked me why I put that extra piece of paper inside.B00A5667-2361-4EAA-BC9C-519577B02BBC  Several reasons:  Number one: It gives your card a more finished look.  And Number two: If your cardstock is dark, like this Mossy Meadow, the recipient needs to be able to see what you wrote!  I might not have made the inside of my card pretty, but I did make the envelope look fancy!
