If you’ve been reading my last few blog posts you know that I have been using the Memories & More Card packs to make cards….like in this post A Traveler’s Birthday Card where I made my husband a birthday card. And sometimes LOTS of cards like in this post Quick Cards with Memories & More. But today I am here to show you how fast and easy you can make a piece of decorative wall art using the cards that come in this little box. The set is called Big Plans Memories & More Card Pack.
This is what comes inside….
- 50 double-sided cards in 3″ x 4″ and 4″ x 6″ sizes
- 6 single-sided silver foil specialty cards in 3″ x 4″ size
- 4 sticker sheets
And don’t you just love the bright and fun colors too! – Calypso Coral and Pineapple Punch are paired with Basic Gray and Gray Granite.
Instead of making cards, I decided to make this 12” x 12” sampler….
Ignore the sparkling lights going across the top….those are the reflection of the lights in my light box where I photograph my cards. I need to work on my photography! Isn’t this bright & cheery? Of course it helps that I matted the cards on a nice bright piece of Pineapple Punch 12” x 12” cardstock.
For the two larger cards, I simply layered one 4” x 6 “ card and one 3” x 4” card. I did cut the edges of the 3” x 4” card using the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies and one of the 4” x 6 “ cards just to give them a little detail.
I used the Layering Circle Framelit Dies to cut a flower design out of one of of the 3” x 4” cards, added a scalloped circle matted layer in coordinating Basic Gray Cardstock and then layered them on top of other 3” x 4” squares. No stamping involved!
For this piece, I used the Layering Circle Framelit Dies again to cut out the sentiment, and added a Scalloped Circle layer of Pineapple Punch. The bottom gray flowered edge was cut from another card to just add a little interest.
This card is just like it comes out of the box with another patterned card piece adhered to the side….I would say it was added interest….but it was really to help make the card the correct size so they would look good in the frame! (The real truth comes out!)
And this card is just the bottom of another 4” x 6 “ card. I liked the stripes at the bottom along with the printed flowers and I needed something that was long but skinnier, so I just cut a piece off the top. The flowers are NOT stamps…but just some of the many stickers that come in the Big Plans Memories and More Card Pack. Remember there are 4 sticker sheets…so plenty to use here and still have leftovers for cards!
Because I had to some extra space to fill, I again checked out the many stickers and just choose a few and added them to fill in the space.
And then I was done. Took less than 1/2 hour to make and some of that was spent hemming and hawing trying to make a decision of which cards to choose and how I wanted them laid out on the 12” x 12” paper. Once I figured that out, it was Easy-Peasy Simple No Stamping fun!
