Best Wishes

Hello Cupcake

It was my oldest daughter’s birthday this past Wednesday….I can’t tell you how old she is because a Mom never tells her daughter’s age on any kind of social media…unless that Mom wants to see an exasperated look on her daughter’s face along with a rolling of the eyes.  So in honor of her birthday, I’m sharing a cupcake card instead:

This card was made with one of the free stamp sets called Hello Cupcake.  You can’t buy this stamp set, but you can choose it as your FREE item if you purchase $50 worth of Stampin’ Up products during Sale-A-Bration which started Jan 3rd and runs through March 31st.  These are all the fun stamps that you’ll receive.

I can’t take credit for this card, I made one almost like this one with my friend and fellow SU Demonstrator, Margaret Spencer.  I just tweaked it a little and made my cupcake chocolate with chocolate sprinkles, because that’s my personal favorite and changed the base card color.

Looks almost good enough to eat too!  Well….the sentiment says it all:

Did you know that you can make your own designer paper?  Did you notice the background paper on the card?  Easily made!  Yep….just use the stamps that are included in the set.  The top paper is just Whisper White Cardstock that was randomly stamped with the sprinkle stamp using Flirty Flamingo ink.  The bottom background paper is Flirty Flamingo Cardstock stamped with another stamp from the set – Sweet Wishes using Flirty Flamingo ink.

If you’d like to make this card, these are the supplies that you will need:

  • Crumb Cake Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Scored at 4 1/4”
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock – Cut
  • Whisper White Cardstock – Cut, plus a scrap for Circle
  • All My Love Designer Series Paper – Cut
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock – Scrap for Scalloped Circle
  • Pearlized Doilies
  • Snail Adhesive and Mini Dimensionals
  • Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Crumbcake, Early Espresso

My card might not look quite as tasty as this cupcake….but it’s soooo much easier to mail!

Happy Stamping!
