I don’t want to think about how long ago it was, because then I’d feel old, but when my husband was serving in the Navy, his ship pulled into port in Naples, Italy just before Christmas. The squadron he was attached to arranged a “Wive’s Trip” for anyone who wanted to go meet the ship and enjoy some time together. I was fortunate enough to be able to go. The hotel I stayed at (The Hotel Royale) had an amazing breakfast that included blood oranges….instead of being the color of the oranges we are all used to, they were a deep orange…almost red color. This card reminds me of those delicious, juicy oranges that I ate, everyday I was there…..they were sooooo good!
The stamp set is Lemon Zest….again. By now you should know it’s one of my favorites! And I didn’t even make Lemon’s this time!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Lemon Zest
Card stock: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White and Lemon Lime Twist
Ink Pad: Tangerine Tango (Pumpkin Pie)
Other: Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ dimensionals
Recipe:
Base Card: Whisper White Thick Cardstock – cut 8 1/2” x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4”
Layers: Whisper White Cardstock – cut 5 1/2” x 2 3/4” (Randomly stamp with slices), Cut one piece 2 14” x 3 1/2”. Using scraps of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp 3 slices and fussy cut, cut one slice in half – use one for the outside and one for the inside lower right corner)
Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock – cut one strip 5 1/2” by 3/4” and one piece 2 1/2” x 3 1/4”
When attaching the orange slices, use stampin’ dimensions on the top slice to give it a little emphasis.
And as an added bonus….here is the same card, but stamped just a little bit different. Same card….two different looks! (Colors: Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black). For the strip on this one, I cut my strip out of whisper white cardstock and just used the lemon stamp and Daffodil Delight Ink for the color….just made it look a little textured and not so plain)
