Hello….Friend!

6F06C9D6-0082-4F7B-BE6C-D783FDD947AAIn the world we now live in that is full of technology….computers, iPhones, iPads….when we want to get in touch with someone, we reach out by emailing, texting and using facebook and instagram, etc.   Rarely do people write letters and send cards anymore and it’s actually quite sad. From someone like me who think it’s thrilling to research family history, I can’t help but think of all the things we’ve found out about our ancestors through letters they wrote to family and friends telling about life’s mundane events.  Years from now when people go back to research they won’t find much….no letters tied up in ribbon from a long lost love hidden in an attic trunk.  No letters from a deployed husband in the military writing home to his wife and children telling about his adventures.  No letters from the military wife to the husband relating all happenings at home, like a child taking a first step or how the washing machine broke.   I admit, I’m not the best letter writer, but I do have all the letters and postcards that my Navy husband wrote to me and our two daughters while he was deployed.  But now all we get in the mail is “junk mail” and the occasional bill that we don’t get online.  No cheery letters or notes.  I think we need to change that….so here a quick little card to just say “hello”.034095B3-77B9-4B48-A266-48D85BCDBBD3
