It’s time for another Take Me Back Tuesday! A project from awhile back that I forgot to share, or maybe with a retired product or two. I’m trying to encourage you to not let all your supplies sit in a closet or a box. There is someone, somewhere who would love a piece of “Happy Mail” and it makes no difference to the recipient if there is retired products on your card. They will love to see something fun in their mailbox!
A few months ago I did a class with four cards using the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp set and the now retired In-Colors 2020-2022. 6” x 6” Designer Series Papers. (The patterns in the papers are retired…but not the five colors which are Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight.) You can still order 6″ x 6″ packs of paper with all these colors – just different designs on the papers.
I was determined to use all the colors on the 4 cards. And one card for each of the big words in the Stamp Set that had a matching die – Coffee, Cookies, Cocktails and Chocolate. I was down to the last card and I was left with the Misty Moonlight color and the word “Cookies”. I was stuck for an idea. I was “Zoom Crafting” at the time (just chatting and crafting with friends) while I was making the cards and one of my demonstrator friends, Kathy Winter, suggested “Cookie Monster”….because she had made a card years and years ago with a Cookie Monster. Plus he is blue and he loves cookies! So this is what I made:
He looks kind of like Cookie Monster, don’t you think? It’s the Googly eyes that really make this card too. In my mind I can hear and see him on Sesame Street saying Coooo….kies” and cramming all the cookies in his mouth. So I replicated that just a tad using a retired 2 3/8″ Circle Scalloped Punch for his his head which I punched out of the Moonlight Madness patterned piece of the Designer Series Paper. If you don’t won this punch or something similar, you can use Paper Snips to create your own “shaggy circle”. Then I punched a half circle out of a Cinnamon Cider of the same patterned piece for his mouth. (or you can use the Layering Circles dies for a small circle and then cut it in half.)
He looks very happy eating his cookie too! But I still think it’s all in the Googly-eyes. I used the biggest ones I had. The cookies are stamped with Cinnamon Cider Ink and then die cut and placed near his face with one actually in his mouth.
And this is the inside of the card:
I just love the sayings in this stamp set! So fun and it’s easy to mix and match them up with the other words that can be die cut.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies that you will need:
- Nothings Better Than Stamp Set
- Love You More Than Dies
- Punches: 2 3/8″ Circle Scalloped Punch (retired), 1 ½” Circle Punch (retired)
- Misty Moonlight Cardstock

- Cut 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (for Scalloped Circle)
- Scrap for word “cookies” – about 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″
- 2020-2022 In-Color 6×6 Designer Series Paper (Misty Moonlight Dots)
- Cut 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4” (for Scalloped Circle)
- Cut 2″ x 3 7/8” (card front)
- Cut 1/2″ x 4″ (inside of card)
- 2020-2022 In-Color 6×6 Designer Series Paper (Cinnamon Cider)
- Scrap for punching 1/2 of a 1 1/2” Circle (mouth)
- Basic White Cardstock
- Cut 2 pieces 5 1/4” x 4”
- Scraps for 3 cookies (about 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2”)
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight
- Googly Eyes (or alternate – punch two 1/2″ circles from Basic White Cardstock), Add two small black cardstock dots (holepunch) or color with Stampin’ Blends Markers
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal, Mini DImensionals,
- Adhesive Sheet – Cut 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″” (for the die cut word – Cookies)
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Snips
Funny thing about this card….I didn’t end up using it for the class. I opted for a decorated “box” instead…..
A Little Debbie Oatmeal Pie fits perfectly inside….or bake your your own! I’ll share how I did this in another post!
Happy Stamping!
Patricia
P.S. Just a hint, but before you die cut the big words – Cookie, Cocktails, Chocolate and Coffe, apply a piece of an Adhesive Sheet to the back of your cardstock. Then when you die cut, it will make a little “sticker” that you can easily adhere to your card without using messy glue!

COMING SOON! – JULY-DEC MINI CATALOG
Are you wondering why the new July-December Mini Catalog isn’t out yet?…..after all it is already July. The answer is that due to shipping, some of the products in the new Mini catalog were not going to be available by the time the catalog was supposed to launch in July. In an effort to not disappoint customers, Stampin’ Up! changed the launch date to August 3rd. The catalogs had already been printed, hence the name on the cover. Catalogs have been shipped to my house and I’m trying to figure out a way to get them out to my customers as the catalogs are in Virginia and I am currently in Arizona. I might have to enlist the help of my husband….hmmmm we will see how that goes! If you are interested in receiving the new Mini Catalog and do not already receive one from another demonstrator, please go to my catalog tab (at the top of my blog) and request a copy!
