Hee-Haw….Card fun with Darling Donkeys!

One of the cutest sets in the new SALE-a-bration catalog has to be the Darling Donkeys.  It was one of the first things that I choose as my FREE product for purchasing $50.00 of products….and it’s been sitting on my shelf since December!  One of the perks of being a Demonstrator is that I get sneak peaks and get to purchase new products the month before they are released.  But it was December and I was still in Christmas mode, so I didn’t use it until now. Isn’t he cute?  Such a fun card to send to a friend who might need a little cheering up.  I paired him with another one of the FREE products, the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.  This paper pack includes four fun colors and – Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay and Rococo Rose.  Obviously for this card, I chose the two Granny Apple Green patterns. Usually when people think of embossing….they think of embossing Cardstock, but you can actually emboss any of the Designer Series Paper.  I wanted it to look like the donkey was sitting in a field of flowers, so I choose to emboss the plain ombre paper using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder.  I love how the colors go from dark to light. And I’m not finished with new products yet!  I also used one of the new Blending Brushes to give a little background color to my piece of Basic White Cardstock where I adhered my fussy cut donkey.  A stamped sentiment and a little bit of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and the card is complete! If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:

• Darling Donkeys Stamp Set
• Stitched So Sweetly Dies (Largest scalloped rectangle)
• Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder
• Basic White Thick Cardstock – cut 4 ¼” x 11”: Score and fold at 5 ½”
• Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper  – Cut plain ombre sheet 4” x 5 ¼”; and cut Circle pattern sheet 2 ⅞” x 3 ⅞”
• Basic White Cardstock – Cut 4” x 5 ¼” (inside); Cut 3” x 4” (card front) and use scrap to die cut largest scalloped rectangle (or cut a piece 2 ½” x 3 ½”), plus scrap (about  2 ½” x 2”)  to stamp donkey 
• Ink: Granny Apple Green and Memento Tuxedo Black
• Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake and Soft Suede
• Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
• Blending Brush
• Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Almost forgot….I decided to add a little fun on the inside of my card too, so I used the Blending Brush to put a little color around the outside of a piece of 4” x 5 1/4” Basic White Paper and then stamped another donkey in the corner. Hope you enjoyed this card! Happy Stamping! Patricia
