Oh what fun was had in making this card. I originally made this card as part of a Funday Monday Zoom with my small group of stampers. There was a little measurement confusion and then a little bit of laughter and finally the uncontrollable giggles took over. Don’t let anyone tell you that stamping and crafting isn’t therapeutic!
For this card you need three pieces of Designer Series paper but all with a different design. Using Stampin’ Up’s papers makes that so easy as each 12″ x 12″ package contains 12 pieces = 2 each of 6 double sided designs.
I also used the coordinating dies – So Many Snowflakes to die cut the different snowflake which I layered on the front. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set called Greatest Part of Christmas. I have made several more of these and I’ll be sharing those in another post. But I did make another card using the same Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper, but it had a very different look. For the second card I chose papers that featured more of the Coastal Cabana and Pool Party colors.
I love this sentiment from the Christmas Means More Stamp set. In my mind I like to think that the snowman is directing a small group of singing snowmen.
You might be wondering where do you write your note….or even just sign your name? On the back! All you need is a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock to put on the back. You can stamp a sentiment or decorate with a small strip of matching designer series paper. My suggestion for when you are ready to send this card is to write or stamp your greeting on the piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and then adhere it to the back when you ready to send or give the card.
And yes, this card does fit into an envelope for mailing! Just fold it flat to insert it in the envelope.
If you would like to try this card, these are the general supplies that you will need. (Colors reference the first card)
- Die Sets: So Many Snowflakes and Layering Circles
- 2″ Circle Punch
- Base: Night of Navy Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4″ x 11, Score at 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″, 8 3/4″ and 10″
- Front Panel: Pacific Point Cardstock – Cut 2 3/4″ x 5 5/8″, plus a piece cut 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ (scalloped circle)
- Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper –
- Base: Cut 4″ x 3 1/4″
- Base Box: Cut 4″ x 2 3/4″ (cut this piece- 1″ x 4″ and 1 3/4″ x 4″)
- Front Panel : Cut 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ (cut this piece – 2 1/2″ x 1″ and 2 1/2″ x 2 3/4″)
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ , plus a piece cut 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4 (punch 2″ circle)
- Adhesive: Tear & Taper, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals and Glue Dots
- Ink – Night of Navy
