2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalog (Holiday), Christmas, Embossing Folders, Seasonal - Winter, Stampin' Up!

Let’s Emboss with Winter Snow and Evergreen Forest

I’ve got a super simple card for you on this Monday morning!  I had a busy week-end doing a first for me….and maybe my stampers too….a combination Countdown to Christmas Kickoff In-Person and Zoom Retreat!  It was an all day Saturday event (10am-5pm) and I had 4 In-Person stampers and 1 virtual.  It took a little ingenuity with my Apple TV, Iphone and Ipad, but it worked and everyone was able to see and interact with each other.   There were lots of projects – A One Sheet Wonder, 4 gift card holders, 1 treat holder/stocking stuffer, 3 boxes and 1 decorated Mini Paper Pumpkin box with 4 note cards inside.  Phew!  So today I am taking it easy with a simple card project.

Evergreen #1

I used both the Winter Snow Embossing folder and the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing folder..   These two embossing folders are great compliments to each other when you want to create a quick winter scene. You can find both of these new embossing folders in the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog.

To make the forest, I embossed a piece of 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the Evergreen Forest Embossing folder.  Then I used a sponge dauber and my Shaded Spruce ink pad to lightly dab on some green for the trees.  I started with a just a little ink on the dauber to give each tree a soft color and then went back and added more to the trees in the front.  This helped to give a little dimension marking the darker trees look like they were closer up and the lighter trees like they were more in the distance.

I then used one of the Stitched so Sweetly dies and chose the part of the trees that I liked the best and using one of the rectangle dies in the set, I die cut that area.  I mounted it with dimensionals onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that was embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing folder.  A little Shaded Spruce Cardstock mat helped bring out the green in the trees.  All that was left was to add a sentiment.   You could use just about any sentiment from Happy Birthday to Thinking of You.

Since I had Christmas on the brain from Saturday, I choose one of the greetings from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set.  This is a great stamp set to have on hand because there are sentiment for just about every Christmas card, gift tag or treat holder that you’ll make during the holiday season.  Making it even easier, I used the Banners Pick-A-Punch to make my sentiment tag.

If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Score and fold at 4 1/4”
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4” x 4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5” x 3 3/4” and two pieces cut 5 1/4” x 4” (one for trees, one for inside of card, plus a piece cut 2 3/4” x 1/2”
  • Embossing Folders: Winter Snow and Evergreen Forest 3D
  • Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set
  • Ink: Shaded Spruce
  • Sponge Daubers
  • Adhesive: Stamp & Seal, Dimensionals
  • Stitched so Sweetly Dies (optional) (4” x 3”)

Since I already had my sponge dauber and ink pad out, I decided to add a little color to the Whisper White piece on the inside of the card.

Happy Stamping!

Patricia
