It’s no secret that when September rolls around in my little corner of the world that it means it’s Virginia Tech football season and time to break out the Maroon and orange, the official school colors. Over the Labor Day week-end, I made a few cards and while I definitely didn’t plan it this way, three out of the four cards I made on Monday are predominately “maroon” which in the Stampin’ Up World translates to these similar colors: Cherry Cobbler, Merry Merlot or Rich Razzleberry. This the last one of the cards I made:
I used the Love of Leaves Stamp set….again….I just can’t seem to put it away to move on to something else! You can see the two previous cards I made with this stamp set here: Simply Thankful for Love of Leaves (lots of orange in that one!) and here: More Love of Leaves.
This card might look complicated, but it’s actually easy to do. I like the idea of having the stamped and die cut leaves “framed” by the Stitched Rectangles. They get shown off a little better and you can see the details of the stitching for the leaf veins much better too.
I stamped the leaves using Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie inks on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock, then die cut them out. The Rich Razzleberry rectangles, I also die cut with a set called Rectangle Stitched Dies. I liked that they also had stitching around the outside. Then I die cut the leaf shape out of the middle (which I’ll save for another card)
The rectangle “frames” and the leaves are both on dimensionals, but only on the ends. The cardstock and Designer Series Paper (which comes from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper) that runs across the center gives the card a little “bump” in the middle, so by putting dimensionals on the bottom edge and top edges of the frame, it will lay flat on the card front.
I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink and used the Banners Pick-A-Punch on each end. I threaded two strands of the Burlap Ribbon (now retired….but one of my favorites!) underneath the three rectangles and tied a little bow on the side. There is a little glue dot under the bow to hold it in place. And the sentiment is simply glued down across the top.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies that you will need:

Die Sets: Stitched Leaves Stamp and Rectangle Stitched dies (optional)
Banners Pick-A-Punch (optional)

Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper

This was a fun card to make and I hope you will give it a try.
I’ll be doing a Facebook Live HERE at 7:00 PM tonight to show you two of the other cards I made….If you’ve never tried the Baby Wipe technique…here is your chance to try it! – You’ll need some baby wipes, a piece of foil, your favorite colors of Re-Inkers and of course a stamp!
Happy Stamping!
