When you think about the winter holidays….and I’m talking about both Thanksgiving and Christmas….what come to mind? Turkeys? Snowball fights? Caroling? Christmas trees? Lights? And when you see this Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper.…what do you think of?…in particular the one one the very far left?
Here is a close up…..so you don’t have to squint.
Those snowy homes & horses and carriages remind me of the song “Over the River and Through the Woods”, a staple during my elementary school days in Mystic, Connecticut. I’m not sure if anyone still sings it today, but it certainly makes me think of Christmas, although technically it’s a Thanksgiving song. Either way, I couldn’t resist making a card with it.
And adding a little gold gives it a little fancier look…like the old Christmas cards my Mom used to send. I used one of the new inks that is in the 2019 Holiday Catalog – Delicata Golden Glitz. You can see that the ink has a shiny gold glimmer to it.
It’s a fun way to add a little bling to go along with the Gold Metalic Edged Ribbon and the Gold Metalic Pearls…..and don’t forget the Gold Foil that frames the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Gold scalloped circle either. Yes, it was a gold day in my stamp room.
If you’d like to make this card, (and add a little gold to your day) this is what you will need:
- Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set (outside Sentiment)
- Memories of Home Stamp Set (inside sentiment)
- 2” Circle Punch (Real Red Circle)
- Layering Circles Dies (gold scalloped Circle)
- Stitched Shapes Dies (Very Vanilla Circle)
- Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Score and fold at 4 1/4”
- Real Red Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4” x 4”, plus a scrap for circle
- Gold Foil Cardstock – Cut 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”
- Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper – Cut 3 1/4” x 4 1/2”, plus a piece cut 5 1/4” x 3/4” for inside)
- Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon
- Gold Metallic Pearls
- Snail Adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue & Glue Dots (attach bow)
- Stampin’ Dimensionals (behind Red circle)
I just love this sentiment….I think it will be finding it’s way onto many of my Christmas cards this year.
