Ever have one of those days when there just aren’t enough hours in the day? Or even a week when you have so much to do that you have a hard time just deciding what is most important and what can wait until the craziness that is your life stops swirling out of control? Kind of how I’ve felt for the past two weeks…so this card is quick and easy….although it made about 4 or 5 versions until I settled on this one, so maybe it wasn’t quick for me, but it will be for you!
The most fun part of this card was playing with the leaves. They are made using the Gathered Leaves Dies that are in the new Stampin’ Up’s new 2019 Holiday Catalog.
I already told you how great they were in my last post (Gather Together ) because not only do the dies cut the shape, but they also emboss. But I took it a little step further and put the dies face down on my Pretty Peacock Ink Pad and then ever so carefully lifted them up with my Take Your Pick Tool and put them face down on a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock before putting them through my Big Shot to cut.
You can see that the ink transfers to the recessed parts of the leaf and the veining is left to stand out even more. You could do this with any color of ink and cardstock.
If you would like to make this card, this is what you’ll need:
- Gather Together Stamp Set (sentiment)
- Gathered Leaves Dies
- Mint Macaron Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”, Score and fold at 5 1/2”, a piece cut 3 1/4” x 4 1/2” (layer), a piece cut 1” x 2 3/4” (sentiment background) plus scrap pieces for the leaves.
- Come to Gather Designer Series Paper – Cut 5 1/4” x 4” (leaf background) and a piece cut 3” x 4 1/4” (checked background)
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 3/4” x 2 3/8” (banner), plus a piece cut 5 1/4” x 4” (inside of card)
- Mint Macaron Twine
- Pretty Peacock Ink
- Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals (leaves, banner)
- Paper Snips (for notching edges of banner)
