When I stay in one place too long….I get the urge to move. Maybe it’s because when I was growing up I moved a lot….by the time I was 14 I had lived in 4 different states Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Connecticut. and 6 different cities or towns – Joliet, Philadelphia, Lynchburg, Mystic, Downers Grove and Blacksburg. When I got married, I married a Navy man…an A-6 Bombadier/Navigator. You might have heard the slogan “Join the Navy, See the World”….so you’d think we moved a lot….nope all I saw was Virginia and Florida. So we took trips ourselves instead. When you navigate, you need maps….my husband reads maps like other people read books.
So it should be no surprise that we have a big map with push pins showing all the places we’ve been. And I still have a bucket list of places I want to go. We have two grown daughters….who both love to travel….they have been to more places than my husband and me. Pretty sure they get their love of travel from their Dad.
So when I saw this stamp set En Route (above) and the matching Designer Series Paper, Best Route (below) I knew I needed to buy it…which I did finally in March….and I’m just now getting around to using it.
I cut pieces from all the papers, stamped lots of little planes, cars, boats, bikes and sentiments in all the fun colors – Blueberry Bushel, Mango Melody and Pineapple Punch and Gray Granite, and punched a pile of circles. Then I just started pulling pieces from the pile and this was the first to emerge:
