Yesterday was the last day of the OnStage Live Stampin’ Up! convention in Orlando, so I have one last birthday card to share with you before I fly home and it’s fast and easy!
This card used the same stamp set, Half Full, that I used in my birthday card post yesterday,
but this one has a lot less stamping and detail. You can see that post HERE.
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I like to always put a little something on the inside of my card….sometimes a sentiment, but usually something to decorate the inside, so when the recipient opens the card, they can still ooohhh and ahhh. So here it is!
After stamping the bottle and coloring with the Stampin’ Blends, I “fussy cut” the bottle. That means I used a pair of Paper Snips (scissors) to cut around the bottle so I could attach it to the card with dimensionals so that it would stand out just a little. Remember that when you “fussy cut” to leave just a little of an edge around the outside.
If you don’t have a pair of paper snips and are just using a regular pair of scissors, then you are really missing out. The Paper Snips are meant to do fine close cutting, so the blades are nice and sharp and are a little thinner that other scissors so you can get up close and personal with whatever you are cutting.
The ribbon is attached to the back of the stamped piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Slide another piece of ribbon underneath and tie into a knot. You get the look of a bow without actually tying one (I have a “bow-challenged” friend who will appreciate this!)
If you’d like to make this card, these are the supplies that you need.
- Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock – cut 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
- Merry Merlot Cardstock – cut 4” x 5 1/4”
- Very Vanilla Cardstock cut 3 3/4” x 5”, plus a scrap for the wine bottle
- Ink: Merry Merlot
- Stampin’ Blends Markers: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Soft Suede
- Ribbon – Merry Merlot/Copper 5/8” Reversible Ribbon – one piece about 5” and the other about 4” (attach the ribbon only to the back of the top layer – wrapping around the sides. Slide the second piece of ribbon under the ribbon attached to the card and tie in a knot.
- Snail Adhesive, Mini Dimensionals
Happy Birthday Stampin’ Up! It was quite a celebration!
Happy Stamping!
