This is my second Christmas card made with with this Easy Card Design. As I shared yesterday I like snowmen. Might be because I like snow! I lived in Connecticut for 5 years growing up and I was the right age for enjoying all the winter activities – one of which was sledding. The street I lived on was a steep hill and winded through the woods. We used to sled down the street and frequently ended up in the woods. We also had round metal saucers and we would make “runs” down the hills in the woods….complete with banked turns. We got the bright idea to use a hose and “water” the runs which promptly froze overnight. We were now like the “Olympic Bob Sledders”! How we didn’t injure ourselves is a miracle because we frequently flew over the banked runs and into the trees.

This card was made by using the Sophisticated Sled Stamps and Coordinating Sophisticated Sled Dies. Ynou can stamp the sled or you can do what I did — die cut the pieces to make a sled.
I used two different sets of Designer Series Papers. The pieces on the card front and matted pieces come fro the Winter Meadow and Country Wooods Designer Series Papers. The Winter Meadow papers make a great background for the card front.
And the wood planked designs in the Country Woods papers made a perfect sled! I added some Adhesive backed Textured Dots to the sled to make it look a little more realisitic. Ialso added a bough of leaves die cut from a piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock The bow was made by seperating two strands from the Natural Polk Dot Trim and tying a bow.

I couldn’t find a paper I liked for the background…I was looking for snowflakes, so I decided to just make mriy own “paper” and used Pretty Peacock ink to randomly stamp snowflakes on a piece of Basic White cardstock instead.

If you’d like to give this card a try, you will need the following supplies:
