Whew! It’s been almost a month since I’ve posted on my blog! But I’m glad to be back and I’ve been waiting to share this project with you. Slim Line cards are all the rage now. I’ve seen them on Pinterest, other friends have made them and I have made a few myself. You can see those HERE and HERE. Today’s card is a little different. This is my first time attempting a “Mini” Slim Line card and it was so easy!
I used one of my favorite Designer Series Papers called Hand-Penned. I just love the soft colors and pretty flowers, plus the reverse side is a nice collection of polka dots (my fave!), leaves, stripes. subtle flowers and scalloped lines. If you love this paper, make sure you order it soon as this paper is on the Last Chance List and is only available through May 2 or while supplies last!
One good thing about this mini slimline card is that it only takes 1 piece of 3” x 6” Designer Series Paper, so I can make plenty of cards!
For this card I used the Color and Contour Stamp to stamp the image on the front of my card because I thought these flowers looked like the ones on the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. See the flowers in the paper on the left? Don’t they look like my stamped flowers?
I used Pale Papaya ink to stamp the color on my flowers, the same color that is on the Hand-Penned Designer Series paper. You just have to love the color coordination of Stampin’ Up! products.
The finished card measures 6 1/4 x 3 1/4”….so not quite the right size to fit into an A2 size envelope, so I designed my own envelope to fit the card. I used a piece of Basic White Cardstock, although if you want a prettier envelope, you can use a piece of of the same Designer Series Paper that was used to make the card.
Because I used Basic White Cardstock to make my envelope, I stamped a partial flower on the lower left corner to make it a bit prettier. And I did the same kind of stamping for the inside of the card:
