Easy Two Card Layout – Penquin Place

Today I want to share with you two easy cards that are made with a few simple supplies – One piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock, two square pieces of cardstock (4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″), one square piece of Designer Series Paper ( 4 1/4″ x 4 1 4″) and four pieces of pieces of Basic White Cardstock.  Of course you will need a stamp set too and I chose the Penguin Place Bundle (Penguin Place Stamp Set and the Penguin Builder Punch.

This is a new stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog (I like to call it the Holiday catalog because there are so many stamp sets for the fall and winter catalog in it  — Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas!  The reason I chose this stamp set was because not only does it have a winter/Christmas theme, but the sentiments cover both Christmas and Birthday.

But the best part of this card is the matching Penguin Playmate Designer Series Paper that you can get for FREE with a $50.00 purchase during Sale-A-Bration!

Besides being some of the cutest paper….you can also use the Penguin Builder Punch to punch out the penquins from the paper on the far right!  The stamped balloon I fussy cut (although if you have the Balloon Bouquet Punch, you can use that to punch out your balloon instead!)  I could have just stamped it on the Basic White background piece, but I felt like balloons should be floating so I fussy cut it and put in on dimensionals to give it that “floaty” feeling.

I also attached a piece of twine behind the balloon and then tied a little knot in the other end and attached it to the penguins wing to make it look like he was actually holding the balloon.  (In hindside, I think I should have tied the other end of the string to the end of the balloon too…I’ll do that next time!)  Then I did a little bit more fussy cutting with the polar bear on the same paper to make my second card.

For this card, I used the snowflake and dots stamp with Misty Moonlight ink to make the snowy sky and to fill the top part of the Basic White background piece.

And don’t forget to put a few sentiments on the inside of these cards too!  I added a little strip of the striped paper to the inside too.

If you would like to make both cards, these are the supplies that you will need:

  • Penguin Place Bundle (Penguin Place Stamp Set and Penguin Builder Punch
