Snowman Season – Coordinating Papers

Half of the fun of making cards is doing the actual stamping….the other half of playing with all the pretty papers.  Most of the time I pick  one of my stamp sets I want to use and then choose my papers and embellishments.  Today I actually chose a pack of Designer Series Paper called Heartwarming Hugs first and then looked for a stamp set to use.  So how did I do? 6C0CD1B9-211F-4F23-AE82-D2619D0AB2E3 Doesn’t that snowman seem to be saying: Ta-Da!  Here I am!  If you are looking for a great set of papers with lots of fun Christmas patterns (and you like the Christmas combination of Red and Greens, then this paper is for you. This stamp set if one of my favorite winter stamp sets called Snowman Season.  It’s no secret that I love snowmen, and I do not live where we get much snow, so the actual making of a Snowman is relegated to putting them on as many cards as possible.  And I had trouble deciding between the Real Red colors or the Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.  So I made another card – same design, but this time in shades of green 4FAF4568-12B2-4E9A-BF08-16DBB46D0A24 This is the stamp set and it comes with a great punch called Snowman Builder.  It’s appropriately name as it just takes one punch to punch out a body, two stick arms and a top hat.  All the pieces you need to build your snowman.  There is also a small “carrot shaped” nose that will punch out too.  There is no actual stamp for the nose. The easiest way to stamp and cut all the pieces out at the same time is to use the Stamparatus and follow my picture diagram below:  First using a plain piece of Whisper White Cardstock, punch out the pieces, and then use that cardstock piece as a template.  Place the stamps in the “holes” and close the plate on top to pick up the stamps.  Put a new piece of Whisper White Cardstock down, ink up the stamp and then close the plate to stamp the image.  TA-DA!  You can now use your punch and cut all the pieces out at the same time. And as long as it’s all set up, stamp a few more for future projects! To add a little sparkle to my card, I also put Wink of Stella on my snowman.  Gives him a little shine when the light hits just right.
