I have a quick and easy card for you today! I spent a little bit of time playing around with
The Love of Leaves Stamp Set — stamping, cutting, trying different colors of ink, different papers, cardstock colors. Then I realized I was overthinking the entire thing. So off came the pile of leaves i had on the card…and just left two….and a simple sentiment. Sometimes simple is best.

Sometimes It’s best not to overthink and just go with your first instinct. The plaid paper is part of the Plaid Tidings 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper. There are so many great color combinations.

You could use any of these papers with this card design and have a fabulous card. But you also need the Love of Leaves Stamp Set and the matching dies appropriately called
Stitched Leaves Dies. The dies actually have two parts. One to cut the leaf shape and the other to “stitch” the leaf veins. It’s a great way to add texture to the stamped images.

If you looked at the stamped leaves, you might think that I didn’t do a good job of stamping, or that maybe it was time to re-ink my Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. But this set of stamps are like the distINKtive stamps. There is supposed to be a variance of color and shading. It makes the leaves look a little more realistic.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies will need:
- Love of Leaves Stamp Set
- Stitched Leaves Dies
- Rectangle Stitched Dies (optional)
- Pumpkin Pie Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2 ” x 8 1/2″‘ ; Score and fold at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2″ x 4″
- Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – Cut 4 5/8″ x 3″ (or use second largest Rectangle Stitched die
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 4 5/8″ x 3″ (or use second largest Rectangle Stitched die, plus a piece cut 3 1/4″ x 4 (for 2 leaves) and a piece cut 5 1/4″ x 4 (inside)
- Ink: Pumpkin Pie and Memento Tuxedo Black
- Black Twine (Retired)
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal and Dimensionals.
When placing the two Stitched Rectangle pieces on the card front, I staggered the rectangles, by putting one in the upper left and the other in the lower right hand corner. I really like how that let a little more of the layered cardstock show through on the corners.

I hope you’ll try this quick and simple card!
Happy Stamping!

he new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is available to order!
As a Demonstrator, I was able to pre-order one during the month of August. .and I can’t say enough good things about it! It’s easy to use, easy, smooth sending the dies and embossing folders through the machine and best of all it folds up so it takes up a smaller footprint on my craft desk….leaving me more room to create! There are also easy instructions right on the base plate of how to make the “sandwiches” for both die cutting and embossing. Plus all the plates are numbered, so there is no confusion of what to use! You can find it in the Annual Catalog on pages 170-172. Presently only the larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss is available. The Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss is not available yet…but it’s coming in the next few months!
