“Checking” My List with Post-It Note Holders

Today I am going to share a quick and easy way to make a Post-It Note Holder.  If you want to carry these around in your purse or wallet, this little cover will help protect them….plus it looks cute too!

I used Christmas Colors (and Christmas Designer Series Paper!) for these,  I gave all my customers one so they could use the Post-It Notes  inside to mark items and pages in the new August-December Mini Catalog that will be launching on August 4th.   The sentiment is from a retired Stamp Set called Signs of Santa, but it was perfect for the occasion….Wishing You Everything on Your List”.

I started with an 8 1/2” x 11” piece of cardstock and started cutting.  For each holder you need one piece of Cardstock cut 3 1/4” x 8”.   You can make three of these covers from one piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Cardstock!  The Designer Series Paper is one of three that are returning from last year….called Toile Tidings.  The piece I used is double sided with Real Red check on one side and Garden Green Check on the other, so I decided to make one half of mine Real Red and the Other half Garden Green.

After you cut the cardstock to 3 1/4” x 8”, you will need to score it on the long side at 2”,   2 3/8”, 5 1/2” and 5 7/8”.  Then simply use your bone folder to crease on the score line.  I rounded the corners of the top flap with the Detailed Trio Punch.  And you will aslo need to round the corners of the Designer Series Paper pieces too.

You only need 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper -one cut 3” x 1 3/4” and the other cut 3” x 1 7/8”.  They are really close in size so make sure you put the correct ones on each end.

To attach the Post-It Notes to the inside of the folder, place two strips of Tear & Tape on the back of the Post-It Notes at the top and two at the bottom, then simply center the Post-It Notes on the inside of the folder.  I used Velcro dots (5/8” size) to keep the holder closed.  You can also use tiny magnets, but I’ve found that the Velcro Dots are easier to attach since they are self-sticking, so no need to use glue on tiny objects.

David's Post it NotesP.S.  My husband carries Post-It Notes everywhere he goes…..he keeps them in his wallet, in his checkbook, in the bag he takes to work (when he goes….since he is mostly working from home now).  But he is still using Post-It notes at home….now they are attached to the desk and bookshelf in the bedroom he commandeered to be his office.  I asked if his office at work looked like this…..His answer was “oh, there are lots more there”.  We should have bought stock in Post-It.
