Mother’s Day was a few weeks ago and Father’s Day is fast approaching and will be here before you know it. I made this card about two weeks ago and it would be perfect for a Father’s Day Card. My Father passed away a little over 9 years ago, but I know he would have loved this card.
The stamp set, dies and the Designer Series Paper are from the Come Sail Away Suite of products found in the 2019-2020 Catalog.
The Sailing Home Stamp Set and matching Smooth Sailing Dies will be carrying over into the new 2020-2021 Annual catalog that will be out on June 3rd. Currently you can buy these two together as a bundle and save 10%. However in the new catalog, the bundle pricing goes away!
But the nautical themed Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper will be carrying over. If you like these papers, you should snag them right away before they are discontinued.
They are only available while supplies last and things have been flying out of Stampin’ Up’s warehouse as we get closer to June 2nd, the last day to order items on the Last Chance List. (see the link at the end of this post)
Just a little hint for putting this together – Attach the Designer Series Paper to the front of the card base, then use one of the circle dies to cut a circle in the middle. Use that same circle die to cut a circle from the Whisper White Cardstock.
Stamp the image using Night of Navy Ink and then use the blender pen to “color” in the sails and water. Don’t add any ink…just lightly color. You’ll see that the Blender pen will pick up some of the stamped ink in the image.
To attach the circle so that it shows through the hole on the front of the card. Adhere the strips of Designer Series paper to the two panels on the Whisper White Card and attach to the inside of the card. Close the card up with the pieces inside folded up inside. Put adhesive just on the side small bit of the inside of the card that is showing and then place your “circle” in the hole. (I should have taken a picture of that!)
If you would like to make this card, this is what you will need:
- Sailing Home Stamp Set
- Smooth Sailing Dies
- Layering Circles Dies
- Balmy Blue Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″; Score and fold at 4 1/4″

- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4″ x 8″; Score and fold at 4″ and 6″; plus a scrap for the circle (about 2 1/8″ diameter)
- Night of Navy Ink
- A Blender Pen
- Snail or Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Hope you have a wonderful day!
