Mixed Up Monday is back! And I have a little different take on flowers today for you.. I combined a die set from the 2020 Mini Catalog called Poppy Moments Dies with the Perennial Essence Vellum Paper from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.
What you get are a little bit of “see-through” flower petals and leaves. The opaqueness of the vellum gives the flowers a little softer feel, especially when it’s combined with the bright colors of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.
The Perennial Essence Vellum Papers comes in three colors – Old Olive, Petal Pink and So Saffron. I used the Petal Pink for the flowers and the the Old Olive for the inside part of the leaves. It you look at the leaf on the top right, from the photograph you might not think it’s vellum, until you look at the bottom left leaf and realize that you can see the striped Peaceful Poppies Striped Designer Series Paper peeking through. The flowers are attached with dimensionals that are hidden behind the centers of the flowers.
The sentiment from this card comes from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. This is a must have set as there are sentiments for every occasion, so you can mix and match this stamp set with just about any other stamp set for birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding, thank you, sympathy, etc. And the loopy-swirly font mixed with the more traditional font gives it a little elegance and playfulness at the same time.
I also added a few of the Peaceful Poppies Sequins to the front of the card to add a little sparkle. And a smaller strip of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card for visual appeal.
If you would like to make this card, this is what you will need:
- Poppy Moments Dies
- Peaceful Moments Stamp Set
- Old Olive Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Score and fold at 4 1/4”, plus scraps for leaves
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut two pieces – 5 1/4” x 4”
- Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper – Cut 2” x 5 1/4”, plus a piece cut 1” x 5 1/4”
- Perennial Essence Vellum Papers – scraps for flowers (Petal Pink) and for leaves (Old Olive)
- Calypso Coral Cardstock – scraps for flowers
- Basic Black Cardstock – scraps for flower centers
- Peaceful Poppies Sequins
- Ink: Old Olive
- Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals
These flowers would also look beautiful by using the Perennial Essence Vellum in So Saffron and coordinating So Saffrom Cardstock for the flower “outline”. I think I will go try that…..
