Retiring Favorites – Petal Palette

There are so many good and fun stamp sets that are retiring on June 3rd.  But just because they are retiring from the catalog, doesn’t mean that they can’t be used to make beautiful cards.

Petal Palette is another one of my first purchases….and there is so much goodness in this stamp set that it comes in two cases!  There is a sweet little bird, leaves & flowers, plus lots of sentiments in such a pretty font.

Plus there is a co-ordinating set of Petals & More Thinlet Dies that have not just Thinlits that cut out the bird and flowers and leaf branch, but also a small narrow one that is great for sentiments, plus a little “trellis-like” decoration, and a corner flower piece.  You can see cards made with those in these posts:  Mixing The Old With The New and Another Angle and It’s a Seasonal Thing….Or Not.

And not only is the stamp set and dies I used in the card retiring, but so is the Berry Burst  cardstock color, the Berry Burst ribbon and the Berry Burst ink!  In fact all of the 2017-2018 In-Colors will be retiring  on June 3rd – Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig.

The card pictured at the beginning of this post was done in Berry Burst

but I wanted to make a set of cards….so I made 4 more — using the other 4 retiring colors that are all part of the 2017-2018 In-Colors and here they are:

And while you are stamping, don’t forget to add a little something to the inside too!
