This past week-end I traveled south, leaving the comfort of my Virginia Beach home, where the temperatures were in the 60’s….only to arrive in Blowing Rock….in the mountains of North Carolina…..in time to experience a fierce wind that could have knocked you over and temperatures in the low 30’s. Brrrr…..In fact there had been a small snow shower the previous afternoon. I like snow, but the beach is my happy place. So why was I there? Well, doing what any paper crafter loves to do….spend an amazing week-end at a Stamping in the Mountains Spring Retreat at the Blowing Rock Conference Center.
Hosted by Michelle Irinyi , a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, 20 women spent two and a half days of crafting, making new friends, eating, more crafting, sleeping, more crafting. Did I say crafting? There was lots of card making and scrapbooking going on. This was my little workspace. This was early on before it got messy…..and I know this because you can catch a glimpse of 4 of the 34 cards, 2 gift bags and 1 box that I made.
In fact this was one trip where I didn’t take hundreds of pictures, so you’ll have to wait and come back later this week….and maybe a week or two more while I share some of the cards that I made.
Here is a sneak preview….
They say that crafting is good for the soul and your mental health….it’s a stress reliever, produces happiness and the best part is that participating in crafting is good for your brain — it helps protect your brain from the damage caused by aging! Well, if that’s true I need to go craft some more!
I’m going to leave you with this…..the Beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains….
Happy Stamping!
