I was getting ready to write a new post….and found this one still waiting to be posted! I remember why….because I wanted to do a video tutorial…even cut out all the pieces had everything ready, but then I ran short of time before I accompanied my husband on a work trip overseas. So all those pieces are still sitting on my work desk at home and will stay there a bit longer. But here is the post if you want to cut the pieces and be ready to follow along when I post the video! Or maybe you can figure it out on your own!
I am always on the lookout for a Fun Fold Card I haven’t tried….something that’s simple, easy to make but has a little something extra. This card fits the bill:
The something extra is the little corner triangle pocket that holds the card together and keeps the Fun Fold Card on the top from popping open. And as an extra plus, I’m loving the blue designs in these papers and of course the beachy feel of the card. The beach is my happy place! The papers are part of the Country Lace Designer Series Papers. The colors in this pack of paper are a mixture of blues, light grays and pinks. It first I almost didn’t purchase this set of papers, but I needed some paper to go with the Seaside Wishes stamp set and these are perfect and they are easy to mix and match
This card is easy to make. The base card is cut 6 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 2 1/2″ to give it a flap on the left side. The smaller card is 5 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and scored in the middle at 2 3/4″. The fold of this card is on the right hand side, so it opens the opposite of the flap on the base card.
The small card on the front is a good size, so there is plenty of room to write a little note on the inside.
The sand dollar and detailed cut out are from the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies….you can die cut and emboss with one pass through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine as the large die fits inside.
The details on the sand dollar are impressive and look like you picked it up on the beach and adhered it to the card front! I added a tiny starfish to complete the beach scene.
Making the corner triangle pocket is easy. You’ll need two squares -one cardstock piece cut 2″ x 2″ and a piece of Designer Series Paper cut 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″. Each piece is then cut into two triangles by cutting from the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. You can cut them using paper snips as they are small enough, but if you are not comfortable doing that, use your paper trimmer and line up the two corners on the cutting line.

- Seaside Wishes Stamps Set and Seaside Wishes Dies & Embossing Folder Combo
- Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- Cut 6 ½” x 5 1/2”, Score on LONG side at 2 ¼” (Card base)
- Cut 5 ½” x 4 ¼”, Score on LONG side at 2 ¾” (small card)
- Cut 1 ¾ x 1 ¾” (detailed die cut) and a scrap for the small starfish.
- Country Lace Designer Series Paper – From the blue papers:
- Blue Design #1 – Cut 3 ⅞” x 5 ⅛” (inside base card)
- Blue Design #2 – Cut 1 ⅞” x 5 ⅛” (front flap) , and Cut 1 ⅞” x 1 ⅞” (pocket

- Basic Beige Cardstock –
- Cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ (base card inside mat)
- Cut 2 1/2″ x 4″ (mat on front small card)
- Cut 2″ x 5 1/4″ (mat on base flap)
- Cut 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ (inside small card)
- Cut 2 pieces 2″ x 2″ (pocket flap & sand dollar)
- Ink: Soft Sea Foam, Pecan Pie
- 1-2 strands of Polka Dot Trim (Alternate -Linen thread)
- Petal Pink and Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
- Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer Paper Snips, Bone Folder
