Even though stores are filling their aisles with all things fall – leaves, pumpkins, Halloween decorations and even Christmas trees, it is still summer – sunny and hot where I live. I love all things that have to do with the beach – sand, sun, waves, seashells – so it was a easy choice to purchase the Seaside Wishes Stamp set and coordinating Embossing Folder/Die combination. I finally got a chance to play with this set and had fun creating this:
I’ve found and have several Sand Dollars during our time living in Key West, Florida, and I’ve never seen a Sand Dollar this color (Pool Party), but I like the beachy feel! The Seaside Wishes Bundle includes three different sizes of Sand Dollars as well as two detailed cut Sand Dollar shapes and some of what I call Seaweed Leaves, or maybe they are Sea Grass??
The fun thing about this set is that the dies for the Sand Dollars fit inside the Seaside Wishes Embossing Folder so you can cut and emboss at the same time! Don’t you just love the embossing on this?
After I cut and embossed these Sand Dollars form both Pool Party and Basic Beige Cardstock, I took a Sponge Dauber and Pool Party ink and went around the edges of the sea grass and the large Sand Dollar. I also lightly brushed the middle to bring out all the embossed features. I used another sponge dauber and the new Basic Beige ink and went around the edges of the detailed cut piece as well as the Sea Grass blades.
I thought the look complimented the piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper on the front that looked like distressed wood planks. For the background Designer Series Paper on the front of the card I used a piece of the Country Lace Designer Series Paper and used Pool Party ink and stamped some tiny dots using one of the other stamps from the set. I randomly layered the Sand Dollars and detailed pieces and then used Dimensionals to add the large Pool Party Sand Dollar on top I also stamped and added a few small starfish and a bow made from two strands of the Polka Dot Trim ribbon.

- Crumb Cake Cardstock – Cut 5 ½” x 8 ½”, Score and fold at 4 ¼”
- Country Lace Designer Series Paper – Cut 5 ¼” x 4” and Cut ½” x 4”
- Country Woods Designer Series Paper – Cut 5 ¼” x 2”
- Basic Beige Cardstock – Cutting separate: Cut 1” x 2 ¼” (small seaweed), Cut 2 1/4” x 2 1/4” (Med sand dollar), and Cut 2 ¼’ X 2 ¼’ (Large detailed)
- Pool Party Cardstock – Cut 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” (large Sand dollar), Cut 1 ¾” x 1 ¾”(Sm detailed sand dollar); Cut 2 ¾” x 1 ¼” (1 large & 1 small seaweed leaf), and Cut 2” x 2” (small starfish)
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut 3” x 1 ½” (3 small starfish – stamp & die cut))
- Ink: Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Basic Beige and Pool Party
- Polka Dot Trim Ribbon (separate 2 strands) Alternate: Linen thread
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
- Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer Paper Snips, Bone Folder
