Today I am finishing the week and sharing the last Christmas card I made with the Easy Card Design #1. These three cards are the ones I shared earlier this week. The card on the left is the original card I made using the Hooray for Suprises Stamp Set. I then took the same design and made the center card using the Merriest Trees Stamp Set. The card on the right is made using the Trucking Along Stamp set. I turned that card so that is was horizontal and added a little embossing on the background.
Today’s Christmas card is made using some of the new Online Exclusive products that were releasted on July 3rd and is a little more elegant and fancy than the other two cards above.
One of the new products is the Season of Green and Gold Designer Series Paper. This paper has lots of leaf patterns in Shades of Old Olive and Mossy Meadow with Gold Foil accents, but the reverse side are Gold Foil Patterns – leaves, starbursts, polka dots, and diamond shapes. What could be more elegant than gold?? You’ll have to trust me that this paper is much prettier in person than this photo.
The stamp set I used is also one of the new Online Exclusives and is called Sophisticated Sled. There are matching dies as well (Sophisticated Sled Dies). This stamp set reminds me of all the fun I had when I was younger and lived in Connecticut where we had lots of snow and sledding and ice skating were our favorite things to do.
Obviously I didn’t stamp either of those things, I chose to stamp the wreath! And that’s because I wanted to use the sentiment that seemed a perfect match.
I did change a few of the dimensions on this card , specifically the Basic White Cardstock pieces that are on the front of the card. Each one is just 1/8″ smaller than than the previous ones as I added an extra layer 9or mat) of Gold Foil to go with the pretty Gold Foil Papers. I do have a big HINT about using the Gold Foil as a mat. I like to get as much use out of my cardstock and foil papers, so for this card the pretty Gold Foil leafy bough that is above the wreath is die cut from the center of the 2 1/8″ x 4″ piece of Gold Foil! I’m sure you would have never known if I hadn’t told you as the Basic White Layer is covering where I cut out the bough. And would it surprise you to know that I also cut out 3 more boughs to use on future cards from the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Gold Layer? You can’t see that either!
If you’d like to make this card, you will need the following:
- Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set and Sophisticated Sled Dies
- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4″ x 11″, Score and fold at 5 1/2″, and Cut 2 1/4″ x 4 1/8″
- Gold Foil – Cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ and Cut 2 1/8″ x 4″ (Die cut the leafy bough from this piece)
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut two pieces 4” x 5 1/4”, Cut one piece 2″ x 3 7/8″ and Cut one piece 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
- Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper – Cut 3 pieces (1 each from 3 different patterns) 3 3/4″ x 3/4″, plus cut a piece 4″ x 3/4″
- Ink: Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso Ink
- Stampin’ Blends: Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce
- Wink of Stella (optional)
- Gold & Silver 1/8” Trim Combo Pack (Gold)
- Metallic Gems (Gold)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
