In my last post, I shared how I made a Thanksgiving Card using Tissue paper to stamp a background. You can see that post HERE. Today I am sharing that same layout and tissue paper stamping but for a Christmas Card.
The background for this card was stamped with tissue paper using the colors of Shaded Spruce with a little bit of Real Red “stamped” on top. It’s a very simple technique. Instead of using a stamp, simply wad up a small piece of tissue paper and dab it on the ink pad and then lightly dab on a piece of Basic White Cardstock. And like my previous card, I also used the same tissue paper stamping on the inside of my card, but this time using the Shaded Spruce ink.
The die on the front of the card is from the Beautiful Baubles Dies. And there is a reason that I chose the die with the word “Joy” in the middle.
Did you notice the embossed background? That is the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. If you know anything about music (or can read music notes), you might notice that the embossing folder is an actual piece of music….and one of my favorite Christmas carols – “Joy to the World”. So it just seemed fitting that it should be the background for this card.
If you would like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need:
- Heartwarming Wishes Stamp Set (or choose a sentiment of your choice)
- Layering Squares Dies
- Delicate Baubles Dies
- Seasonal Tags Dies
- Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder
- Shaded Spruce Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”, Score and fold at 5 1/2’
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut 4″ x 5 1/2″, plus a piece cut 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
- Brushed Metallic Paper – Cut 3″ x 3″. Use this piece to die cut your ornament
- Ink: Shaded Spruce and Real Red
- Gold Shimmer Ribbon
- Tissue Paper (2 pieces about 5″ x 5″)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals Glue Dots
- Tools: Paper Trimmer. Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
